Position Summary

The Strategy & Planning Lead for Retirement Relationship Management (RM) is a senior individual contributor role that partners with RM leadership to drive strategic planning, performance insights, and cross-functional execution. This role blends data-driven analysis, strategic problem solving, and executive-ready communications to help the RM organization deliver against core priorities—such as profitable retention, growth enablement, and enterprise collaboration.
The successful candidate is a fast learner who thrives in a fast-paced, high-priority environment, can quickly assess tradeoffs, and is trusted to represent RM in leadership-level discussions.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Planning & Business Management

Take ownership of the annual and quarterly business planning rhythm for Relationship Management (RM), setting objectives, success measures, workstreams, and executive reporting. Collaborate with RM leadership to convert enterprise priorities into actionable strategies that drive profitable retention and growth. Maintain strategy roadmaps with clear dependencies, milestones, and stakeholder alignment.

Data Analysis, Insights & Performance Storytelling

Analyze performance and operational data to uncover trends, risks, and opportunities, offering clear recommendations and executive-level narratives for decision-making. Develop dashboards, scorecards, and recurring performance reports for RM leadership, emphasizing concise visuals and actionable takeaways. Provide structured support for risk identification and mitigation planning.

Executive Communications & Presentation Development

Produce leadership-ready PowerPoint materials—including strategy decks, operating reviews, business updates, and partner readouts—with compelling storylines, crisp visuals, and minimal revisions. Represent RM leadership as needed, confidently communicating the team’s strategy, priorities, and progress in senior forums.

Product Distribution Strategy & Cross-Functional Enablement

Design and implement strategies to accelerate product distribution through RM influence and coordinated partner execution. Serve as the RM team’s representative to key business partners (Sales, Marketing, Product, Digital), fostering alignment and integrated go-to-market motions such as coordinated calendars, enablement, and roadmap awareness. Identify stakeholder friction points and develop solutions to enhance RM execution and client outcomes.

RM Incentive Program Support

Assist in the design, governance, communication, and performance analysis of RM incentive programs, including activity-based structures and results measurement. Prepare timely and accurate incentive status reports to keep stakeholders informed on progress and outcomes.

Governance, Recordkeeping & Operational Discipline

Establish and oversee repeatable processes for recordkeeping, documentation, decision logs, action-item tracking, and materials management to ensure continuity and auditability. Maintain a strong operating cadence across multiple priorities, ensuring deliverables are tracked, deadlines are met, and stakeholders remain informed.

Prioritization & Rapid Response

Independently manage incoming requests by assessing urgency and impact, prioritizing workload to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced setting. Seamlessly transition between strategic planning and hands-on execution, adapting from data analysis to presentation development to stakeholder facilitation as needed.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in strategy, planning, business management, consulting, analytics, or PMO-type roles supporting senior leadership.
  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Advanced ability to analyze data and translate findings into clear recommendations and executive-level messaging.
  • Expert-level PowerPoint skills: executive storytelling, clean visual design, and structured narratives.
  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal, and stakeholder management) with confidence engaging senior leaders and cross-functional partners.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, operate with urgency, and make sound prioritization decisions quickly.
  • Supported client relationship management in financial, retirement, wealth, or benefits environments.
  • Skilled in CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and account record maintenance.
  • Built or supported incentive programs with activity-based models and reporting schedules.
  • Led cross-functional sessions to align Sales, Marketing, Product, and Digital teams.

Compensation Pay Disclosure:

Voya is committed to pay that’s fair and equitable, which means comparable pay for comparable roles and responsibilities.

The below annual base salary range reflects the expected hiring range(s) for this position in the location(s) listed. In addition to base salary, Voya offers incentive opportunities (i.e., annual cash incentives, sales incentives, and/or long-term incentives) based on the role to reward the achievement of annual performance objectives. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Voya Financial is willing to pay at the time of this posting.

Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted salary range based upon the candidate’s geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

$157,970 - $197,460 USD
