Actual starting pay will vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, experience, skills, specialty, and education.

Eligible for an Annual Discretionary Cash Bonus Target: 15%

Eligible for an Annual Discretionary Restricted Stock Units Bonus Target: 15%

These discretionary target bonuses may be awarded semi-annually based upon your achievement of performance goals and targets.

About This Job

This position is based onsite at our headquarters in San Diego, CA. Irvine, Los Angeles, or Denver may also be considered. Remote work is not available.

Axos was born digital, providing consumer banking services without any brick‑and‑mortar locations and has continued evolving since. The Axos consumer product team drives the vision and roadmap for this evolution and is adding an AVP, Product Management to the team.

You will be responsible for contributing to and driving product roadmaps across consumer and small business banking experiences, including core banking products, account opening platforms, and supporting analytics capabilities. This individual will work closely with delivery teams across the enterprise to own the delivery of critical initiatives and release best‑in‑class experiences to our clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Product Roadmap:
    Understanding the strategic vision for assigned areas of responsibility and defining roadmaps to achieve business, customer, and platform objectives.

  • Problem Solving:
    Working with product leaders and business stakeholders to understand market trends, business objectives, customer segments, and operational needs to define effective product solutions.

  • Definition:
    Defining workflows, process maps, and data flows to document product requirements across customer‑facing products, platforms, and supporting systems.

  • Feature Prioritization:
    Prioritizing feature releases to optimize customer experience, operational efficiency, risk management, and business outcomes.

  • Leadership:
    Leading product owners, designers, analysts, and solution architects to define product requirements and deliver high‑quality solutions.

  • Supporting operational readiness activities including documentation, training, and staffing.

  • Analysis:
    Analyzing business metrics, customer feedback, and performance data to improve product outcomes and inform future roadmap decisions.

  • Testing:
    Performing and supporting user acceptance testing to ensure solutions meet defined requirements and quality standards.

  • Collecting customer feedback and identifying pain points across the customer lifecycle.

  • Presenting to leadership on project status, roadmaps, feature delivery, KPIs, and performance insights.

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Possess a strong understanding of product discovery, product lifecycle, and SDLC processes.
  • Effectively communicate with subject matter experts across business, technology, analytics, risk, and operations to define solutions to complex challenges.

  • Build consensus when there are differing opinions and priorities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years building and managing technical or digital products.
  • Experience with consumer and/or small business banking products, platforms, or customer journeys.
  • Familiarity with deposit accounts, payments, money movement, account opening, and related financial services capabilities.
  • Experience working in an agile / scrum environment.
  • Experience with issue and development tracking software such as Microsoft DevOps or Jira.
  • Exposure to analytics, reporting, KPI measurement, or data‑driven decision‑making is a plus.
  • Experience with identity verification, fraud prevention, or regulatory‑driven workflows is beneficial.
  • Demonstrated skill in breaking down complex business objectives into clear, actionable components.
  • Proven track record of developing creative solutions to customer and operational challenges.
  • Strong communication skills, with the capacity to engage both strategically and technically with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proactive mindset for identifying risks, issues, and dependencies, with appropriate escalation when needed.
  • Proven effectiveness managing multiple workstreams simultaneously while delivering high‑quality results under tight timelines.
  • Capability to operate independently with minimal supervision while meeting aggressive delivery expectations.
  • Experience evaluating existing processes and driving improvements through thoughtful analysis, documentation, and implementation.
  • Confidence working in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment with evolving priorities.
