Position Summary:

The Price & Value Transformation leader drives initiatives to re‑imagine Price & Value operating models and business processes to achieve a north star strategy—leveraging a deep understanding of business strategy and vision to innovate and implement future business strategies while designing and scaling future customer experiences, future work processes, and future capability needs that shift consumer value perception, enable value creation, and improve operational efficiencies.

This role also serves as the business lead for customer and colleague capability implementation, including user acceptance testing, pilots, rollout, and change‑management activities. The position requires strategic planning, hypothesis testing, and continuous innovation while developing and implementing new processes, managing cross‑functional teams, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

Key objectives include:

  • Define the path and scale the Price & Value north star business vision
  • Define the path and scale Price & Value customer experiences, digital and in‑store
  • Define how Price & Value work and roles should change, including the transition from tasks and rule‑based human decision‑making to algorithmic‑driven scenario evaluation and recommendations
  • Identify use cases and capability needs, along with supporting business cases to re‑imagine workflow and automate tasks leveraging agentic tools and AI agents

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic leadership: Design, develop, and implement the overall north star strategy roadmap, capability design and implementation strategy for customers and colleagues, and business operating models—aligning them with front store and company goals, market trends, and customer needs.
  • Team management: Lead, mentor, and manage the transformation enablement team, fostering a collaborative environment and ensuring project success against key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with the Price & Value leadership team, merchants, marketing, field leadership, store operations, enterprise insights, analytics, engineering, and other departments to ensure seamless north star strategy implementation, product development, and launch.
  • Market analysis: Monitor the competitive landscape, analyze industry trends, and stay updated on emerging business and technology trends to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Go‑to‑market strategy: Partner with merchandising, marketing, and store operations to develop go‑to‑market strategies, including positioning, messaging, implementation plans, and measurement for north star strategy and product/capability launches.
  • Program oversight: Oversee the entire product lifecycle for Price & Value capabilities—from ideation and concept to final production readiness—ensuring projects stay on schedule and within budget and deliver business cases and financial outcomes.

Required Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of business experience designing, innovating, and executing retail merchandising and/or marketing strategies and programs, including cross‑functional work with finance, operations, supply chain, legal, research, technology, and other key stakeholders.
  • 10+ years of demonstrated successful leadership experience in highly competitive multi‑unit environments; relevant sectors include retail, healthcare, and pharmaceuticals.
  • 10+ years of strategy consulting experience, including large‑scale business strategy development and execution, organizational and process redesign, and technology‑enabled transformations that drive customer and financial growth and operational efficiencies.
  • Experience driving transformation of complex business strategies across omnichannel ecosystems (e.g., stores, e‑commerce, marketplace environments, integrated merchandising platforms).
  • Demonstrated success leading organizational change involving technology modernization (e.g., merchandising planning systems, pricing engines).
  • Experience partnering cross‑functionally with Finance, Supply Chain, Operations, Legal, Marketing, Research, and Data Decisions & Technology (DDAT) to deliver measurable business outcomes.
  • Proven track record of influencing others with and without authority.
  • Experience building high‑performing teams and developing key talent.
  • Demonstrated passion for developing leaders and enabling them to impact the business.
  • Experience addressing complex issues decisively while empowering teams and balancing organizational dynamics.
  • Experience leading under pressure, adapting to changing dynamics, and finding solutions that satisfy a diverse set of stakeholders.
  • Ability to break down highly complex situations to deliver impactful, real‑time solutions.
  • Deep understanding of the relevant industry, market trends, and competitive landscape.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience leading large‑scale pricing, promotions, or value‑based transformation initiatives within a Fortune 100 retail or consumer‑focused organization.
  • Strong analytical acumen with proven ability to leverage advanced analytics, customer insights, and AI‑driven tools to shape pricing, value, and merchandising strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with senior executives to influence enterprise‑level strategy and drive cross‑functional alignment across Merchandising, Supply Chain, Marketing, and Store Operations.

Education:

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree
  • Preferred: Master of Business Administration (MBA)

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$157,800.00 - $363,936.00


This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.  This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
