Adventist HealthCare seeks to hire an experienced AVP of Pathology Operations for our Capital Choice Pathology Lab who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing.

As an AVP of Pathology Operations, you will:
• Direction and support for the ongoing development of comprehensive laboratory services for AHC CCPL and the professional pathology services. In partnership with key division personnel, hospital administrative teams, and physicians, develops and facilitates strategy, promotes operational standards, and ensures that services are coordinated and systematic across the system.
• P&L responsibility for CCPL and the professional pathology practice’s business operations, including the technical and professional service productivity and capital and operating budgets; implements strategies to facilitate financial success for both services, and maintains budget compliance consistent with business needs.
• Leads and oversees all business development activities, including market assessment, profitability analysis, new business opportunities, referral development, and ongoing sustainability for both CCPL and the professional pathology service
• Develops and directs a cohesive upper-level management team for the company for management at CCPL and its off-site services and the professional pathology service in conjunction with the medical director.
• Builds strong relationships throughout the AHC system and facilitates the implementation of company-wide laboratory growth initiatives.
• In collaboration with the Marketing team, development of branding and associated marketing programs that enhance the awareness and preference for AHC Laboratory programs and services among key internal and external customer constituencies.
• Assesses strategic influences and laboratory medicine industry patterns to develop and implement an annual strategic plan that maximizes opportunities.
• Develops, reviews, and revises policies and procedures for CCPL and the professional pathology service.
• Continuously evaluating group performance and identifying areas for improvement, utilizing all aspects of the standard management approach.
• Represent the group and CCPlab at external meetings and conferences.
• Monitors and optimizes AHC laboratory quality (e.g., clinical outcomes, credentialing/privileging, processes, services, satisfaction), aligning to division/market and national quality standards and best demonstrated practices.

• Graduate of an accredited school for laboratory medicine, master’s degree in hospital, business administration, or specialty health field preferred (or) 10 years Laboratory Directorship experience with (ASCP) technical certification as HTL, HT, CT, in lieu of any formal education
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in a hospital or healthcare facility with evidence of progressively
• Responsible experience in leadership roles required with formal education
• Minimum 8 years of progressive supervisory experience leading teams and units, preferred with formal education 
• American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP)

Pay Range:

$154,699.34 - $232,049.00

If the salary range is listed as $0 or if the position is Per Diem (with a fixed rate), salary discussions will take place during the screening process.

Under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), this position is classified as:
