Job Summary
Responsible for the development and execution of System net revenue accounting and analytics strategy. The position ensures the accuracy of financial statement reporting and provides oversight and direction in accounts receivable reserve methodology theory for all care delivery sites across the System. Responsible for the organization’s overall understanding of net revenue performance drivers. Serves as a resource and subject matter expert to the organization, and partners with both campus and corporate leadership to accomplish system-wide goals.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor Degree required (preferred concentration in Business, Finance, Accounting or Economics). Advanced degree preferred.
Licenses/Certifications: Certified Public Accountant preferred.
Experience / Knowledge / Skills:
Eight (8) years of work experience in net revenue with management responsibility.
Revenue accounting knowledge and experience required.
Exceptional problem-solving, critical-thinking, organizational, interpersonal, and written/verbal communication skills; must demonstrate and promote a strong commitment to achieving customer satisfaction.
Strong understanding of healthcare operations, net revenue accounting, and reimbursement methodologies from commercial and governmental payors.
Experience retrieving data from various systems such as Excel, Lawson, EPSI, and Crowe RCA.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Facilitates monthly financial close process with specific focus on ensuring data content accuracy, explaining rate variance drivers, and communicating findings to finance leaders.
Strategizes and seeks creative solutions in recommending courses of action to optimize revenues and improve the system’s financial performance.
Provide strategic support to Managed Care executives during contract negotiations to optimize net revenue impacts to the system.
Develops accurate and impactful net revenue analytics.
Assures all information provided for decision making is accurate, comprehensive, and addresses all net revenue topics involved.
Seeks best practices of current industry trends in accounting reserve methodologies. Applies continual process improvement to methodologies and application of historical data (hindsight) theory.
Leads the evaluation, selection, and implementation of technology to optimize net revenue reserve calculations and analytics.
Co-lead a multi-functional task force tasked with reviewing coding opportunities to improve revenue
Remains informed of government and commercial reimbursement and regulatory changes; proactive in relating financial impacts to the system.
Interfaces with external auditors to explain methodologies, policies and procedures.
Builds effective relationships with departments across the organization, to include finance executives. Collaborates and provides net revenue guidance to campus finance teams.
Manages relationships with vendors to include multiple outsourced physician revenue cycle and net revenue software partners.
Prioritizes tasks and assignments to assure deadline satisfaction.
Mentors and develops strong net revenue team.
Assists with the selection, training, retention, and counseling of departmental personnel.
Maintains professional affiliations.
Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor and resource to less experienced staff.
