The Information Technology organization is the technological foundation of our business and works in collaboration with our partners from across the company. The team drives technology and digital transformation, partners with business leaders to design and execute new strategies through IT and operations services and ensures the necessary IT risk management and security measures are in place and aligned with enterprise architecture standards and principles.
About The Role
The AVP II IT Business Systems Analysis on the Individual Retirement IT Product team provides technical leadership to define and build innovative technology solutions for Index, RILA, Variable, and Fixed Annuities. This leadership/ managerial role drives end-to-end technology deployment, bridging business goals with technical execution, and manages a high-performing team of Business Systems Analysts.
Responsibilities
- Leads IT development, delivery, and modernization for priority Individual Retirement products, ensuring technology enhancements align with business goals.
- Manages, mentors, and develops a small team of IT Business Systems Analysts, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Evaluates business needs to provide technical direction, recommending efficient, scalable, and cost-effective solutions for complex system functionality.
- Drives the end-to-end SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle), proactively identifying risks, managing project scope, and resolving complex operational issues.
- Partners with business leaders, Actuarial, and Application teams to translate complex business needs into detailed technical requirements and user stories.
- Tracks key technology performance indicators and leverages data to drive continuous improvement in system reliability and user experience.
- Analyzes and evaluates business needs and provides technical direction and recommendations to create or develop new system functionality.
- Manage requirements scope and escalate any issues as appropriate.
- Research and analyze existing business processes and systems to formulate logical statements of business requirements.
- Involve in effort estimation and planning of new requirements and enhancements.
- Analyze and evaluate alternative solutions and recommend the most efficient and cost-effective solution for system design.
- Plays an active role in the system development life cycle from design through implementation.
- Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in IT business analysis, with a focus on financial services and annuities products.
- Advanced SQL skills and strong database management capabilities.
- Experience with Annuity Product Configurators (e.g., FAST, ALIP, NaviSys, LifePro, OPIA) is highly preferred.
- Deep knowledge and experience on Annuity Retirement Product implementation, business rules and insurance regulations that govern the Annuity business including end-to end lifecycle of an Annuity will be an advantage.
- Ability to understand and implement the various complex calculations provided.
- Experience collaborating with Product Development and Actuarial teams to gather New Products and Features requirements.
- Understand the business rules and insurance regulations that govern the products.
- Good understanding of creating Business Requirements Documents, Functional Requirements Specs, User Stories and Use Case Diagrams.
- Knowledge and experience of systems development life cycle (SDLC) with an understanding of Requirements Gathering, Process Workflows and Modelling.
- Extensive knowledge of business analysis techniques/ tool.
- Strong Analytical, interpersonal, and written/verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to translate complex data into actionable business insights.
- Relationship management skills.
- Basic knowledge of the business unit’s functions and applications.
- Knowledge of system and technology alternatives.
- Experience with waterfall and/or agile methodologies - knowledge of both preferred.
- LOMA – FLMI/ AAPA or similar Certification is a plus.
Compensation:
The anticipated salary range for this position is $122,000 to $148,000 at the commencement of employment for the Jersey City, NJ and Woodland Hills, CA area. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. The actual compensation offered will ultimately be dependent on multiple factors, which may include the candidate’s geographic location, skills, experience and other qualifications.
In addition, the position is eligible for a discretionary bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.

Work Location
This position is based in Corebridge Financial’s Woodland Hills, CA, Jersey City, NJ, or Houston, TX office and is subject to our hybrid working policy, which gives colleagues the benefits of working both in an office and remotely.
