As an integral part of our IT operating model, these globally distributed Tech Centers bring together colleagues from each IT division to drive our digital transformation and deliver strong business outcomes. Along with our other sites, they are essential to supporting our business and strategy.

Role Overview

 Reporting to the Executive Vice President, Chief Information and Digital Officer, as the AVP, Global Technology Centers & HYD Tech Center Lead, you will be responsible for shaping and executing the long-term strategic roadmap for our Global Technology Centers, with a special focus on launching and developing the Hyderabad Tech Center. You will be pivotal in driving operational excellence, talent development, and innovation across our technology footprint, ensuring alignment with enterprise goals and fostering an inclusive, high-performing culture.

What will you do in this role:

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and own the IT talent hiring roadmap, integrating strategies with the IT Leadership Team (ITLT).

  • Lead collaborative planning to build technology capabilities that address strategic enterprise goals, sharing best practices across all Technology Centers.

  • Establish strong working relationships with senior leaders, operations, and technology management to ensure active country council participation in all Tech Centers.

Hyderabad Tech Center Leadership:

  • Serve as Managing Director of the Hyderabad Tech Center legal entity (approx. 2,000 employees), ensuring compliance with statutory obligations, workplace health and safety, anti-discrimination, and anti-corruption regulations.  Sign all vendor contracts, police reports, and official documents as required.

  • Chair the local Incident Management Team, driving incident response and disaster recovery planning; participate in EHS and security committees.

  • Represent the largest division on the India country council, making decisions on cross-country initiatives, benefits, facilities, and budgets.

  • Engage with external stakeholders at business/government events, on social media, and in diversity and inclusion forums.

  • Ensure robust compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.

  • Drive continuous improvement in disaster recovery, incident management, and workplace safety.

  • Foster an inclusive, innovative, and collaborative environment within all Technology Centers.


What should you have:

  • 20+ years as an information technology/information systems leader, preferably in biotech or pharmaceutical environments.
  • Prior global experience in scaling organizations within a Tech Center or Global Capability Center (GCC) context.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with executive and senior management, business leaders, and global colleagues.
  • Proven experience developing and executing long- and short-term strategic IT plans, including financial analysis and operational implementation.
  • Strong leadership and team development skills, with a track record of coaching and managing high-performing teams.
