  • Manage the controls monitoring process and oversee all post trade, pre trade, trade surveillance and dealing controls activities.
  • Review, investigate, and resolve daily alerts generated by the MAST (Market Abuse Surveillance Tool) across all in-scope asset classes (Equities, Fixed Income, FX).Project management and Oversight.
  • Perform investigations on alerts related to Insider Trading, Internal Front Running, NAV Manipulation, Wash Trading & Cross Product Wash Trading and Ramping.
  • Complete Level 1 and Level 3 reviews, documenting rationale, analysis, and supporting evidence.
  • Escalate alerts to Market Conduct team where suspicion of market abuse exists.
  • Drive strategic initiatives to enhance compliance systems and processes.                                                                                                          
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring comprehensive coverage of client and regulatory compliance issues
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for audits, escalations, and senior stakeholders.
  • Process Improvement & Risk Mitigation
  • Ensure commentary, evidence, and audit trail are complete and compliant with internal standards.
  • Support resolution of high alert volumes by adjusting sampling approach when required
  • Participate in annual review of system thresholds, metrics, and instruments with Market Conduct
  • Support preparation of updates for ERC approval.
  • Identify system enhancements or configuration issues and raise with relevant technology or vendor teams.
  • Prepare monthly operational Trade Surveillance Reports for First Line Risk & Control (FLRC) Forum
  • Should be well versed with prevailing UK Regulations like – UCITS/ 1940 Act/ MAR - Market Abuse Regulation/ ISDA/ FCA Conduct rules
  • Able to provide a four-eye check on all BAU activities.
  • Excellent technical knowledge on SQL/ BQL language
  • Asset management domain knowledge on Trade cycle of Equities, Fixed Income, Derivative, FoF, Structure products, Multi-Asset products
  • Identify and manage risks and ensure that adequate control processes exist and operate effectively.
  • Conduct training of relevant staff including Front Office and Investment Compliance staff;
  • Liaising and working with BlackRock Solutions (BRS) on Aladdin issues and requirements; maintaining the coding approvers table
  • Provide support to the Fund Managers on queries relating to pre and post trade rules and exceptions.
  • Identify and manage risks and ensure that adequate control processes exist and operate effectively.
  • Conduct training of relevant staff including Front Office and Investment Compliance staff;
  • Offer comprehensive support to Fund Managers by addressing queries related to pre-trade and post-trade rules and exceptions, ensuring clarity and compliance in trading activities.

Additional Responsibilities :

  • Prepare governance decks and multiple MIs
  • Investigation of real-time pre trade and daily violations generated to mitigate risk and ascertain the reason for any breaches / exceptions.
  • Conduct interviews / discussions with senior business stakeholders and desk heads to gather understanding of control framework and supervisory activities performed by them
  • Communication with the relevant business areas for breach resolution and breach logging.
  • Has the ability to effectively handle a fast paced environment and successfully meet established deadline requirements
  • Support the LOB RCSA Affirmation process and related feeder/governance meetings
  • Develop business cases to influence process owners, control owners, business sponsors, and key risk partners on the need for additional or improved controls to mitigate risk; Work with the business and support teams to provide operational risk expertise and consulting for projects and platform initiatives, taking into account impacts to risk & control framework
  • Monitor and evaluate emerging risks, operational trends, and external events for potential impact to the control environment in context of RCSA
  • Ability to research and resolve issues independently while working across teams to acquire information
  • Investigate temporary exemptions and special exemptions. Maintain, report and review the exemptions register on a monthly basis.
  • Support breach reporting and production of MI reporting to key stakeholders and committees
  • Liaising and working with BlackRock Solutions (BRS) on Aladdin issues and requirements
