About the role

 

PURE is seeking an innovative, self-motivated and exceptional communicator to lead our Claims Vendor Management function.  We are working on a number of exciting projects that you will be asked to embrace with creativity and tenacity with an eye toward shaping the program into a highly efficient system that serves the Claims Department which, in turn, serves our membership.

 

As AVP of Claims Vendor Management & Procurement, you will work in collaboration with our enterprise vendor partners to help build, maintain and monitor our vendor network to ensure we are delivering a best-in-class service experience to our members. You will also help ensure an excellent member experience and drive strong technical claims outcomes. You will manage vendors in a data-driven, disciplined way and will leverage our network in alignment with the enterprise and Claims department objectives and vision, to help us maximize business outcomes.


What you’ll do

  • Create and manage a world class vendor and service provider network
    • Oversee the maintenance of our existing portfolio of vendors and service providers
    • In collaboration with our enterprise vendor partner, participate in vendor selection, RFP process to ensure we are negotiating the best rates and SLAs, and identify opportunities to leverage existing relationships and synergies with sister companies
    • Centrally manage our strategic partnerships with Claims vendors and service providers, as needed
    • Assist our enterprise vendor partners in ensuring all preferred vendors are on-boarded with contracts, defined SLAs, W9 and Tax IDs in place and have passed a thorough vetting procedure and are proven to be capable of providing best in class service to our members
    • Monitor existing vendor network to ensure high standards of service are delivered and contracted terms are met
    • Negotiate mutually beneficial contracts with new vendors in collaboration with our enterprise vendor manager
    • Review and approve all new vendor requests from the business for accuracy, appropriateness, merging duplicates and validating information
    • Consult with Claims Business Process Owners and Stakeholders on identifying vended service needs
    • Help develop the deployment framework (when to use each vendor, etc.) and KPIs for each vendor category
    • Develop and execute on the PURE member preferred vendor and service provider network
    • Management oversight and accountability of Claims vendor administrative support functions (Onboarding and contract maintenance, billing, invoicing, vendor access profile administration)
    • Work with Claims Delivery to address any systemic vendor performance issue
    • Partner with Business Process Owners and Claims Delivery to address gaps in coverage by service type or within vendor coverage network
    • Identify highest priority relationships and provide insights as needed by the business

  • Develop and maintain efficient workflows
    • Oversee the evolution, maintenance and administration of the vendor management playbook
    • Establish and maintain a culture of collaboration with the business
    • Identify automation and innovation opportunities wherever possible
  • Use data to drive decision making
    • Create and complete monthly performance scorecards and communicate results back to the business
    • Using scorecard data, take appropriate action when a vendor is providing sub-optimal service
    • Monitor the use of non-preferred vendors and identify trends or areas of opportunity to expand our network

  • Enterprise Risk Management awareness
    • Collaborate with our enterprise vendor partners to ensure compliance and all legal considerations are recognized

 

What we're looking for.

 

Minimum 7 years of P&C Insurance industry experience is required, with expertise in the High Net Worth space highly desired. We are happy to consider substantive industry and functional experience in lieu of formal education. Advanced degrees and industry designations are a plus.

We are looking for a strategic thinker who demonstrates outstanding interpersonal skills in order to support the relationship building element of this role. We believe the most successful candidate will also be highly organized and able to plan for the short term and long term and be prepared for a wide variety of company needs on a proactive basis. This is a hybrid/remote position, with periodic countrywide travel based on relationship and business need.

The base salary for this role can range from $145,000 to $170,000 based on a full-time work schedule. An individual’s ultimate compensation will vary depending on job-related skills and experience, geographic location, alignment with market data, and equity among other team members with comparable experience
