Install, inspect, test, adjust, and repair advanced avionics equipment and systems for the Sierra Space satellite systems
Perform precision equipment setup and maintenance activities in a defense-grade manufacturing environment
Use specialized measurement tools to fabricate fixtures for satellite components, including work with standard alloys and geometries
Execute precision cleaning essential for space-qualified hardware
Apply and maintain strict 5S, FOD, and ESD protocols in a controlled manufacturing environment
Demonstrate proper packaging and handling requirements for sensitive flight hardware
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality workmanship and adherence to critical defense project timelines
Document and report issues discovered during inspections and tests with meticulous attention to detail
Support the integration of power systems, including solar array technologies, into satellite platforms
Typically 2+ years of related experience.
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance.
Familiarity with general best shop practices including PPE and shop safety requirements.
Ability to perform basic equipment setup and maintenance activities and display general mechanical aptitude and hand tool competency.
Able to use precision measurement tools and fabricate fixtures for use, including non-flight parts with standard alloys and simple geometry.
Ability to learn and perform precision cleaning and chemistry processes.
Ability to learn 5S, FOD, and ESD awareness.
Ability to demonstrate correct packaging and handling requirements for all hardware.
Formal training, degree, or certification in avionics, electronics, or a related technical field
IPC certification (J-STD-001, IPC-A-610, or similar) for electronics assembly
Hands-on experience with satellite systems, particularly power generation components
Proficiency reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams for aerospace applications
Knowledge of software tools for diagnostics and troubleshooting of advanced avionics systems
Strong problem-solving skills and exceptional attention to detail
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities in a high-performance environment
Previous experience in defense or aerospace manufacturing environments
Pay Range:
$25.10 - $34.51Your actual base compensation will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related knowledge and skills, education, experience, internal equity and market competitiveness.
