Description

Your Role:  

As the Technical Project Officer​ within the Capability Development team, you will employ cutting edge Engineering outputs using contemporary design processes to develop aircraft capability improvements, resolve key obsolescence items and modernise the RAAF C-27J Fleet. Within this role, you will primarily be accountable for:  

  • Drafting Engineering outputs in the form of Engineering reports, Engineering instructions and Engineering Drawings to meet customer driven outputs 

  • Employ Engineering assessment and judgement to develop modifications bespoke to the aircraft 

  • Assessing, reviewing and providing feedback on Engineering artefacts developed under the Defence Aviation Safety Authority MDO 21J authority 

  • Working with both Engineers and Project Managers to provide guidance and task mentoring for assigned modernisation projects  

  • Develop project and certification plans to support the development, certification, installation and testing of new and/or upgraded Avionics systems 

  • Support engineering workflow and assigned tasks in coordination with the customer’s organisational priorities 

  • Provide input and Instructions for Continuing Airworthiness (ICA) on the platform to maintain C-27J configuration, technical and operational publications  

About You:  

To be successful with this position, you will have: 

  • Degree or Technical Competencies n Aerospace Avionics and/or Electrical Electronic Engineering, or a related experience  

  • Experience with the application of civil and military technical standards, principals, theories, concepts and techniques 

  • Understanding of aviation Configuration Management concepts utilised by ADF and/or Civil Operations  

  • Project or Systems Engineering processes and experience  managing projects and understanding of Project or Systems Engineering processes and tools
