Function:

Carry out all day to day tasks required to safely, effectively and efficiently operate the fuel storage facility and into-plane activity whilst maintaining the PUMA ENERGY Quality Control and Operating Standards. The AO operates sophisticated, high cost mobile and fixed equipment in carrying out these tasks. The AO is the front-line contact with the customer and Airport authorities. The AO must promptly respond to the fueling requirements of PUMA ENERGY’s customers. In the absence of the Duty Supervisor he/she assume those responsibilities normally assigned to the Supervisor.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
HSEC

  • The AO must be HSSE minded and work safely at all times.
  • The AO works within a team and therefore his actions and behaviors will impact on others.
  • The AO must be fully conversant and comply with all Company and Legislated HSE requirements which apply to the Airfield Operation. Comply with company requirements and systems relating to SAPS, HSEC & Quality and other company policies.
  • The AO must strictly adhere to the PUMA Rules for Operators.
  • The AO must report all unsafe acts and conditions and near misses to his / her Supervisor at all times.
  • The AO must acknowledge that Working Safely is a condition of Employment.


QUALITY CONTROL

  • The AO is required to perform tasks critical to the Quality Assurance System and as such he/she shall be fully trained in such tasks and nominated as an approved Product Quality Inspector. Such Critical Tasks include, but may not be limited to, the following:
  • Checking the documentation on incoming consignments is correct and that it corresponds to the transport/container concerned.
  • Visual inspection and control checks on incoming material, including the checking of seals on vehicles if present.
  • Discharge into storage.
  • Release of product into Fuellers and Hydrants.
  • Sampling of aviation products.
  • Maintaining records of stock/quality/equipment checks as appropriate.

OPERATIONS & ASSURANCE

  • The Airport Operator (AO) is responsible for completing documentation of the various tasks performed and recording results. This includes,
  • • Operational tasks.
  • • Maintenance tasks.
  • • Stock control.
  • • Sales delivery tickets.
  • • Incident reports.
  • • Defect reporting.
  • The AO is responsible for performing card and cash transactions. He/she is responsible for capturing, in most cases on a computer, sales transactions
  • On most occasions the AO is the person who the customer sees first and therefore the AO is responsible for presenting himself and PUMA appropriately
  • The Aviation Fueling Operator (AO) is responsible for carrying out the day to day operational tasks safely, effectively and efficiently. The AO receives fuel into storage, looks after the day to day storage and handling procedures, loads refueling vehicles and refuels aircraft
  • The AO is responsible to perform all tasks in accordance with the site Operating Standards. The AO operates sophisticated, high cost mobile and fixed equipment in carrying out these tasks.

  • • Storage and handling
  • • Preventative Maintenance
  • • Fueler filling
  • • Driving
  • • Product Quality
  • • Aircraft refueling

FIXED AND MOBILE PLANT MAINTENANCE
At the direction of the Depot Manager or the Duty Supervisor, the AO will carry out such tasks as are necessary in the day to day running of the facility. These include but are not limited to:
• Equipment maintenance
• Miscellaneous tasks within the Depot
• Cleaning of fixed and mobile equipment
• General housekeeping tasks

HSE Responsibilities – General Employee
As part of each employee’s legal and moral responsibility to Puma Energy PNG, you are to support management by:
• Cooperating with the Company to enable compliance with any duty imposed upon them by law.
• Using properly and effectively equipment designed to safeguard his / her well being
• Being aware of factors or situations that may impact upon the quality of the product and service and the environment.
• Following implicitly the Company’s Health, Safety & Environment Policy / Procedures / Work Instructions as communicated in writing or as instructions received orally
• Comply with the Company’s procedures and the relevant legislation regarding the Injury Management process.
• To formally report to their Manager any concern or incident / injury / non-conformance in any aspect of their work and complete the Puma Energy PNG Incident / Non-Conformance Report form.
• To formally report to their Manager or supervisor any hazard, practice or condition that will affect safety or production or the community.
• All forms are completed as outlined in the procedures
• Any discrepancies of goods / services received are to be addressed through the Non-Conformance procedures
• All products are to be verified at appropriate stages as outlined in procedures and a record maintained.

Requirements:
Qualification:

• Dip in Technical Trade/Trade Certificate from a recognized Tertiary Institution in PNG
• Grade 12 certificate or equivalent from a recognized institution
• Other
Experience:
• Heavy Duty Licence applicable to the vehicles that he/she will be required to drive
• Work experience in a technical field including airport work is an added advantage
• Aircraft refuelling skills are not freely available in the market therefore the individual will be trained for a minimum period of 6 months before being certified as competent
• HSE minded
Skills:
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office, safety standards, operating procedures and regulations would be an advantage
• Local Language and Good English communication skills
Competencies:
• Ability to work under pressure and follow directions.
