We are an in-office company, and our expectation is that employees primarily work from their Applied Intuition office 5 days a week. However, we also recognize the importance of flexibility and trust our employees to manage their schedules responsibly. This may include occasional remote work, starting the day with morning meetings from home before heading to the office, or leaving earlier when needed to accommodate family commitments. (Note: For EpiSci job openings, fully remote work will be considered by exception.)

About the role

  • Develop and execute the system validation strategy for one or more autonomy modules (perception, planning, prediction, localization) for L4 trucking. 
  • Build comprehensive test plans and specifications across testing modalities including simulation and real-world testing. 
  • Work closely with systems engineering teams on validation test plans to ensure completeness and coverage across ODD and behavior. 
  • Develop and implement strategies for analyzing real-world to measure performance and identify challenging and relevant events. 
  • Identify, develop and measure performance metrics and report on performance evaluation. 
  • Identify, build and deploy frameworks/pipelines to enable metric generation and evaluation. 
  • Trace identified metrics to the safety case tree. 
  • Support generation of the safety case and release recommendation reports. 

We're looking for someone who has:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or similar
  • 2 years of experience in a scenario engineer or testing engineer role with an autonomous vehicle company
  • 24 months of experience using Python, YAML, SQL, Jira, Confluence, Github, and Polarion

The salary range for this position is $118,500 - $144,900 per year USD annually.
