Position Specific Summary:
The Automotive Service Writer position at the City of Tucson’s General Services Department provides customer service and performs clerical duties related to automotive fleet services.
Work is performed under the supervision of the Fleet Services Supervisor. This position does not supervise.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides customer service, greets customers, gathers vehicle and contact information.
Schedules service appointments and create work orders for service and repair.
Communicate with customers and vendors about progress of repairs.
Monitors vehicles and reports for completion of repairs.
Scans invoices, emissions documents and vehicle discrepancy reports and attaches to asset files and work orders.
Perform all other duties and tasks as assigned.
Working conditions as follows:
Work schedule may require early morning, late evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
Often works under the following conditions: Indoor and outdoor work with some exposure to light physical or environmental conditions (noise, dust, weather, etc.).
