Job Summary
Synechron is seeking a highly capable Lead in Automation SQA to oversee the development and execution of automated testing strategies for complex software projects. In this leadership role, you will mentor teams, evaluate emerging technologies, and ensure the delivery of high-quality, reliable software solutions. Your expertise in automation frameworks, testing methodologies, and cross-functional collaboration will support the organization’s goal of streamlining quality processes and improving software excellence across various initiatives.
Software Requirements
Required Skills:
Strong proficiency with automation testing tools such as Selenium WebDriver, TestNG, and Maven
Extensive experience developing and maintaining automated test scripts for functional and regression testing
Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitLab CI for integrating automated tests into deployment pipelines
Familiarity with test management tools and defect tracking systems such as JIRA or Zephyr
Programming in Java, Python, or other scripting languages used for automation scripting (Python preferred)
Understanding of software development lifecycle and testing lifecycle best practices
Preferred Skills:
Experience with performance testing tools like JMeter or LoadRunner
Knowledge of API testing tools such as Postman or RestAssured
Familiarity with Agile testing methodologies and tools that support test automation in Agile workflows
Knowledge of DevSecOps practices and automated security testing tools
Overall Responsibilities
Lead the design, development, and execution of automated test plans for complex software applications
Mentor and guide team members on automation best practices, code quality, and testing standards
Collaborate with developers, product managers, and other QA teams to understand project requirements and define test automation scope
Integrate automated tests within CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing and delivery
Monitor test results, analyze failures, and refine automation scripts for stability and reliability
Identify opportunities to improve testing processes, tools, and frameworks for efficiency gains
Support manual testing efforts where automation is not applicable, ensuring comprehensive test coverage
Maintain detailed documentation of test cases, scripts, and test results
Keep abreast of industry advancements and emerging technologies to innovate testing approaches and tools

Testing Frameworks & Languages:
Required: Selenium WebDriver, TestNG or JUnit, Maven, proficiency in Java (or Python) scripting for automation
Preferred: Experience with Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) frameworks like Cucumber, SpecFlow, or Behave
CI/CD & Automation Tools:
Required: Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitLab CI for build and test automation integration
Preferred: Containerization tools such as Docker, orchestration with Kubernetes
Monitoring & Reporting:
Preferred: Integration with monitoring tools like Prometheus, ELK stack, or Grafana for test result visualization and logs
Data & API Testing:
Preferred: API testing tools such as Postman, RestAssured, or SoapUI
Experience Requirements
5 to 8 years of professional experience in automation testing and quality assurance
Proven track record leading automation initiatives for complex enterprise applications
Experience with large-scale manual and automated testing projects in Agile environments
Strong understanding of scripting, test frameworks, and automation architecture
Experience mentoring and managing QA teams
Industry experience in finance, banking, or enterprise software is a plus but not essential
Day-to-Day Activities
Design and develop automation frameworks and test scripts aligned with project requirements
Lead automation testing efforts across multiple projects, monitoring execution results
Collaborate with developers and product owners to integrate testing in CI/CD pipelines
Conduct code reviews of automation scripts, ensuring adherence to coding standards and best practices
Troubleshoot automation failures, perform root cause analysis, and optimize scripts for stability
Coach team members on automation strategies, scripting, and testing methodologies
Assist in manual testing efforts and exploratory testing to cover gaps in automation
Keep documentation current, including test plans, scripts, and defect reports
Research and recommend new tools, frameworks, or practices to improve testing efficiency
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
Relevant certifications such as ISTQB Automation, Selenium Certification, or equivalent are preferred
Proven success in leading automation testing efforts for enterprise applications in a fast-paced environment
