Network Security Department

As the Automation Operations Specialist, APAC, you are responsible to oversee the controls for the infrastructure and systems of our regional Data Centers. This role ensures the continuous and efficient operation of control systems and ensures the delivery of critical control system services 24/7. Ensuring the optimal availability of our technical services and control system assets throughout their lifecycle, taking into consideration health, safety, environment, costs, investments, and customer requirements.

Main Responsibilities

  • Oversee the design, installation, operation and maintenance of control systems within the Data Centers.

  • Ensure all controlled systems infrastructures, including Building Management System (BMS), Electrical Power Monitoring System (EPMS), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), Fire Alarm System, Extra Low Voltage (ELV), Electronic and Instrument system to ensure operates reliably and efficiently.

  • Assistance in the review and approval of RAMS (risk assessment and method statement) by contractors performing work in our facilities.

  • Develop standardized procedures for the maintenance, modifications, inspections, and drills of control systems, continuously optimizing and updating them based on on-site conditions.

  • Participate fully in the testing and verification of Data Center control systems, identifying any issues during testing and verification, and promptly resolving any discovered problems.

  • To assess potential risks in the Data Center and develop a remediation plan.

  • Maintain accurate documentation of control systems, maintenance activities, and perform audits for maintenance activities.

  • Conduct technical communication with the D&C team, gather relevant requirements from the operations and maintenance (O&M) team, and convey these needs to the D&C team.

  • Review and evaluate the D&C team’s design plans, identify associated risks, and provide actionable recommendations for solutions.

  • Engage in technical communication with OEMs, leveraging relevant technical skills to address equipment risks on site.

  • Involved in high priority incidents and provide guidance to operators

  • Troubleshooting issues and provide short/mid/long term solutions

  • Able to identify, advise and resolve single-point-of-failure design

  • Collaborate and communicate across teams to ensure site stability.

  • Compose the Vantage DC Operations requirement for control system.

  • Support other APAC sites in maintaining technical alignment with Vantage’s global standards.

  • Willing to travel within short notice if required.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant engineering field preferred, experience would be considered in lieu of a Bachelor’s.

  • 5-10 years of relevant experience (with 5+ years of experience working in Data Centers and/or critical environments preferred).

  • Demonstrated skills and experience in the design, maintenance, and operation of electrical systems in critical environments, preferably Data Centers.

  • Experienced in the delivery of highly complex technical projects.

  • Evidence of strong interpersonal skills is essential.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Results oriented, highly accountable, and strong organizational skills.

  • Proven self-starter.

  • Attention to detail and the ability to understand the big picture.

  • Ability to perform through change and transformation while adapting to shifting priorities.
