Job Summary

The Automation Mechanical Engineer will be based in Batu Kawan, Penang
This role will be r
esponsible for specifying, designing, and maintaining automation equipment, tooling, and applications as required to meet specifications

What a typical day looks like:

  • Design and develop mechanical systems, assemblies, and components for automation and manufacturing equipment.

  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive engineering deliverables, including 2D/3D drawings, BOMs, technical specifications, and design calculations.

  • Support the full machine development lifecycle, from concept and detailed design through fabrication, assembly, FAT/SAT, installation, and commissioning.

  • Conduct design reviews, feasibility studies, and risk assessments to ensure robust, safe, and compliant engineering solutions.

  • Provide project execution support for assigned automation and engineering projects.

  • Assist in project planning, scheduling, task tracking, and progress reporting to ensure timely delivery.

  • Coordinate effectively with cross‑functional teams to maintain alignment with project milestones and deliverables


The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Automation, Mechatronics, or equivalent).

  • 5–7 years of relevant experience, including machine design, automation 
    deployment, manufacturing processes, and industrial engineering environments.

  • Proven experience leading and managing medium- to large-scale automation or technical projects across multi-site or regional operations.

  • Strong ability in cross-functional collaboration, working effectively with Operations, PMO, IP, and global Flex teams.

  • Excellent influence and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to lead initiatives and drive alignment across all relevant counterparts.
