Job Summary**
The Automation Engineer II at Jabil, Inc. will design, develop, and implement automated manufacturing systems and processes to improve efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. This role involves working across various engineering disciplines to deliver robust and scalable automation solutions.
Job Responsibilities**
* Design, develop, and program PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) and HMI (Human-Machine Interface) systems for new and existing manufacturing equipment.
* Integrate robotics, vision systems, and other advanced automation technologies into production lines.
* Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and cost analyses for automation projects.
* Develop and maintain detailed engineering documentation, including schematics, wiring diagrams, and software specifications.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, and maintenance, to ensure successful project execution and seamless integration.
* Perform troubleshooting, debugging, and optimization of automated systems to resolve issues and enhance performance.
* Participate in the commissioning and validation of new equipment and processes.
* Train production and maintenance personnel on the operation and maintenance of automated systems.
* Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in automation and manufacturing.
* Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
Job Qualifications**
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
* 3-5 years of experience in automation engineering within a manufacturing environment.
* Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Beckhoff) and HMI development.
* Strong understanding of industrial control systems, sensors, actuators, and motor control.
* Experience with robotic systems (e.g., FANUC, Universal Robots, ABB) and machine vision systems.
* Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Profibus, Modbus).
* Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and P&IDs.
* Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
* Experience with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) is a plus.IND
