Automation Developer I

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build and deploy end-to-end automation solutions using RPA and workflow platforms with guidance on high-level design.
  • Develop workflows, scripts, and bots that automate repetitive business processes across multiple systems and applications.
  • Configure integrations and connectors between enterprise platforms, APIs, databases, and third-party services.
  • Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve defects in automation solutions across development, UAT, and production environments.
  • Document solution designs, configuration details, deployment steps, and change history in line with IT standards.
  • Implement established automation patterns and reusable components to ensure consistency and maintainability.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and product teams to ensure automations are scalable, secure, and compliant.
  • Contribute to code reviews, identify improvement opportunities, and uphold development best practices.
  • Provide mentoring and technical guidance to Automation Analysts on the team.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and backlog refinement to deliver automation solutions iteratively.
  • Support post-deployment monitoring, incident resolution, and continuous improvement of live automations.

TECHNICAL SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

  • Proficiency in one or more RPA/automation platforms: Power Automate, UiPath or equivalent.
  • Scripting and programming skills in Python for automation and task orchestration.
  • Solid SQL skills for querying, data transformation, and integration within automation workflows.
  • Experience with REST/SOAP API integration, webhook configuration, and data exchange (JSON, XML).
  • Working knowledge of Git for version control and basic CI/CD pipeline concepts for automation deployment.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI) and connector ecosystems.
  • Understanding of error handling, exception management, and logging patterns in production automations.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and cloud-native automation or serverless functions is a plus.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field

Experience

  • 2–4 years of hands-on experience in automation development, RPA engineering, or software development (role-level).
  • 3–6 years of cumulative technical experience across development, scripting, or systems integration roles.
  • Demonstrated delivery of automation solutions using one or more enterprise RPA or workflow platforms.
  • ·Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams and delivering iterative software or automation releases.
  • Ability to quickly learn and apply enterprise AI tools and technologies to support technical workflows and business objectives.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • UiPath Advanced RPA Developer (UiARD) or Microsoft Power Platform Developer (PL-400) certification.
  • Exposure to AI/ML-assisted automation, OCR, or intelligent document processing capabilities.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, automated testing frameworks, and deployment pipelines.
  • Knowledge of enterprise security standards and data governance in automation contexts.
