Automation and Manual Testing Lead (Playwright and Banking Domain)

IND BNGL FL2-3 TWR 3 Full time

Are you curious, motivated, and forward-thinking? At FIS you’ll have the opportunity to work on some of the most challenging and relevant issues in financial services and technology. Our talented people empower us, and we believe in being part of a team that is open, collaborative, entrepreneurial, passionate and above all fun.

About the team:

Our team builds Digital Core Banking solutions for prestigious banking clients across North America. We collaborate closely with product, engineering, and client stakeholders to deliver secure, resilient releases. We are looking for an energetic, experienced Software Engineer Lead with strong automation and manual testing expertise to drive quality engineering across the SDLC/STLC and deliver data-driven quality reporting.

What you will be doing:

  • Lead the QA automation strategy and planning across releases (scope, approach, environments, entry/exit criteria) for Digital Core Banking applications.
  • Work closely with business and technology stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into effective manual and automated test scenarios, test cases, and test data.
  • Build and maintain UI automation using Playwright (preferred); leverage Selenium where needed for legacy coverage, and ensure stable, maintainable, reusable test suites.
  • Drive end-to-end quality across the SDLC/STLC, balancing hands-on manual testing (functional, integration, regression, UAT support) with automation to improve coverage and cycle time.
  • Own defect lifecycle management (logging, triage, root-cause collaboration, retest/closure) and publish quality metrics/dashboards (automation pass rate, flaky tests, coverage, defect leakage, execution status) to continuously improve quality.

What you bring:

  • Overall experience of 6–12 years in QA/testing with strong automation and solid manual testing experience; experience leading a module/stream or mentoring engineers is a plus.
  • Banking domain knowledge is required; Digital Core Banking knowledge is strongly preferred (products/processes such as CASA, loans, payments, customer onboarding, interest/charges, EOD/EOM, reconciliations).
  • Strong proficiency in testing methodology and the end-to-end SDLC/STLC: test planning, design, execution, defect management, reporting, and test closure.
  • Ability to create efficient test cases using strong requirement analysis techniques; experience with test design methods (boundary value analysis, equivalence partitioning, decision tables, state transitions) is preferred.
  • Preferred: Strong hands-on automation experience with Playwright (preferred). Selenium experience is beneficial/secondary.
  • Experience designing automation frameworks (Page Object/fixtures), integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, and reporting results (including flaky-test management).
  • Hands-on experience deriving and communicating QA metrics including automation metrics (automation coverage %, automated vs. manual execution split, suite pass rate, flaky test rate, mean execution time/duration trends, CI pipeline failure rate, and time-to-fix for broken tests), as well as overall quality metrics (execution progress, defect trends, defect leakage, severity distribution, re-open rate) to drive continuous improvement.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills; ability to manage multiple priorities, mentor team members, and collaborate across business and IT stakeholders.

What we offer you:

  • An exciting opportunity be a part of World’s Leading FinTech Product MNC
  • To be a part of a vibrant team and to build a career in Digital Core Banking/payments domain with a strong focus on quality engineering
  • A multifaceted job with a high degree of responsibility and a broad spectrum of opportunities
  • A broad range of professional education and personal development possibilities – FIS is your final career step!
