Automated Test Specialist (Firmware testing)

We are looking for a new colleague to join our Brno R&D team as a Firmware Tester. In this role, you will contribute to the development of embedded software for mechatronic products such as windows, shutters, and blinds, and play an important role in transforming electronic products into next-generation IoT solutions within Matter-based Smart Home ecosystems. You will test software that brings smart functionality into everyday indoor environments and contributes to healthier and more comfortable living spaces.

Meet your future team:

You will join a team that focuses on building reliable and future-ready testing solutions for mechatronic products and full system eco-systems. The team is international, and you will collaborate closely with colleagues in Denmark, with occasional travel of up to 10 days per year.

What you will do:

· Review and analyze product and system requirements.

· Implement and execute automated tests for future mechatronic products and eco-systems.

· Further develop the existing automated test toolchain (Python).

· Set up automated test harnesses and supervise automated testbeds.

· Design, implement, and run automated and semi-automated Python test scripts.

· Apply AI methods where beneficial for improving efficiency and test coverage.

· Report bugs and provide test status updates.

· Support product developers and the release manager.

· Continuously improve tests, technology, and test processes.

Who we are looking for:

We are looking for someone who communicates clearly, enjoys working with others to find the best solutions, and approaches tasks in a structured and thoughtful way. You are curious, willing to develop your skills further, and

comfortable collaborating across locations — qualities that help you succeed in our international engineering environment.

Moreover, we need you to have:

· A university degree in electronics, informatics, or automation (B.Sc. or M.Sc.).

· 5+ years of experience in testing, automation, or related engineering fields.

· Strong Python programming skills.

· Experience with automated testing.

· Hands-on experience with Git and GitHub Actions.

· Familiarity with Azure, Jira, or similar tools.

· Basic knowledge of electronic hardware.

· Fluent English as well as Czech language skills for daily local communication.

· You may also use knowledge of networks and communication protocols and because of the travelling it may be beneficial if you have driving license.
