Servomex, the global expert in gas analysis solutions, is searching for a skilled AutoCAD Drafter to join us on a three-to-six-month contract, based out of our facility in Sugar Land, TX.

The Draftsperson will create technical drawings and layouts for analytical sample systems using AutoCAD LT (2D). They will specialize in mechanical and electrical design and will require strong attention to detail, technical knowledge, and the ability to collaborate effectively with engineers and project teams.

Contract: this is a three to six-month contract working Monday to Friday onsite at our facility in Sugar Land, TX – there may be flexibility for some hybrid working which can be discussed at interview.

About the Opportunity:

  • Create, develop and prepare mechanical and electrical drawings, schematics, and layouts using AutoCAD LT (2D) for analytical sample systems.
  • Create drawings and help to prepare bill of materials (BOM) lists and associated part cut-sheets for customers’ application and specification documents.
  • Interpret engineering sketches, specifications, and design requirements accurately.
  • Collaborate with engineers and project teams to ensure design compliance and accuracy.
  • Update and maintain drawing documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure all designs adhere to industry standards, codes, and safety regulations.
  • Assist in resolving design-related issues during project execution.
  • Maintain organized records of drawings and revisions for easy retrieval.

About your Skills and Experience:

  • Strong proficiency with AutoCAD LT (2D) is essential.
  • Experience of creating developing and preparing mechanical and electrical drawings, schematics, and layouts using AutoCAD LT (2D) for analytical sample systems (or closely related process instrumentation).
  • Skilled in creating drawings for environments such as chemical plants, refineries, CEMS and similar fields would be a distinct advantage.
  • Knowledge of industry codes and standards.
  • Solid understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, components, and design principles.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills, combined with solid communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Design Technology, or related discipline would be an advantage, but not a pre-requisite.

Location:

Sugar Land, TX – there may be some flexibility for hybrid working, which will be discussed at interview. However, the Drafter must be flexible to be present onsite for the majority of the week.

Job Type: Three to six-month contract, 40 hours per week – Monday to Friday.

Remuneration: $50 - $65 per hour
