Veterans United Home Loans

Auditor, Data Audit and Reporting

Columbia, MO Full time

Whether you come from a background in data quality, mortgage operations, compliance, or a related field, you can be successful in this role. We don’t require a specific degree or experience, but we’re looking for translatable skills and relevant expertise. We will provide you with the training and development opportunities needed to build a career here!

About The Role:

As an Auditor on the Data Audit and Reporting team, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our loan data is accurate, consistent, and ready for compliant reporting. You’ll validate information across systems, surface inconsistencies, and help maintain the integrity of the data that powers major decisions across the company. Your work directly supports transparency, quality, and trust, the core pillars of our homebuying experience.

Here’s a snapshot of what you’d be doing:

  • Reviewing loan-level and field-level data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency across systems.

  • Spotting data errors and patterns, then recommending solutions that strengthen reliability and prevent future issues.

  • Supporting reporting needs by ensuring the information behind them is clean, correct, and aligned.

  • Keeping detailed notes and documentation to make findings clear and actionable for teammates.

  • Pitching in wherever needed (excluding licensed tasks) to help foster a supportive and collaborative team culture.

About You:

  • You’re detail-oriented and take pride in producing accurate work.

  • A dedicated work ethic drives everything you do, even when tasks are repetitive or require deep focus.

  • You’re organized, great at managing your time, and able to shift priorities when things change.

  • You communicate clearly and professionally—both in writing and in conversation.

  • You’re comfortable multitasking and staying on track in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.

  • Experience in mortgage processing, closing, or underwriting (1+ year) is a plus.

  • Advanced Excel skills or database knowledge is also a bonus.

  • You show up consistently and can be counted on to get the job done.

We always strive to provide friendly, caring service to military homebuyers and their families. And we always seek to lift up people and communities across the country.

We’re so glad you’re here checking out this opportunity! If this role gets you excited but you’re worried you don’t check every box – don't sweat it. We’re more interested in what you can bring to the team than a perfect checklist. If you’re passionate, driven, and ready to make a difference, we’d love to hear from you. Come as you are, and together we’ll create something amazing.
