Mō te tūranga | About the Role
Reporting to the Audit Director, you’ll lead and deliver end‑to‑end internal audits across credit risk, providing independent, trusted and insightful assurance to senior leaders and the Board Audit Committee.
You’ll assess the effectiveness of risk management frameworks, controls and regulatory compliance across the credit portfolio, while building strong relationships with key stakeholders across the business and Group Audit.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, execute and deliver internal audits and risk reviews across credit risk
Evaluate processes, risks and controls, and assess the quality of the Bank’s credit portfolio
Develop clear, high-quality audit reports and agree management action plans
Provide insight on regulatory obligations (e.g. CCCFA, CoFI, APS 220 and related standards)
Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and subject matter experts
Monitor emerging risks, business developments and issue management
Contribute to Audit strategy and continuous improvement initiatives across NZ and Group Audit
Nā tāu rourou | What will you bring?
5+ years’ experience in credit risk management and/or internal audit (credit-related)
Strong understanding of banking, including products, risk management and regulatory frameworks
Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
Confidence engaging and influencing stakeholders at multiple levels
Ability to work independently while thriving in a collaborative team environment
Relevant degree and/or professional qualification
CA, CPA or IIA membership
