Cooley is seeking an Audit Letter Assistant to join the Risk & Compliance team.
Position summary: Under the direction of the Audit Letter Team Manager, the Audit Letter Assistant will work with Audit Letter Analysts to respond to and monitor audit letter requests from the firm’s clients. The Assistant will support the process and the Audit Letter Analyst team to ensure all requests are completed in a timely manner and in compliance with ABA guidelines and accordance with firm policies. Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Position responsibilities:
Assist Audit Letter Analysts with the coordination, organizing and tracking of incoming audit letter requests to ensure all are processed timely and in accordance with ABA guidelines and firm policies and procedures
Assist with monitoring incoming requests and flagging missing, incomplete or inaccurate information for Analysts’ attention
Assist with setting up new requests in Intapp Open and on the team calendar in accordance with established team workflow
Supporting Analysts and as requested, obtain prior responses, engagement letters, or other necessary documentation from appropriate sources for audit letter checklist review
Assist in obtaining relevant accounting reports using project-specific dates and other parameters
Assist with assembling necessary documentation supporting audit letter responses
All other duties as assigned or required
Skills and experience:
Required:
After orientation at Cooley LLP, exhibit proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, iManage, and other firm applications
Available to work overtime, as required
1+ years’ direct experience working in a professional environment (e.g., performing process-oriented, information services and/or knowledge management duties)
Preferred:
Bachelor’s Degree
Prior experience as a paralegal, information services, or law firm conflicts professional
Experience working in a law firm

The expected hourly pay range for this position with a work schedule of 40 hours per week is $24.50 - $36.50 ($50,960.00 - $75,920.00 annually). Please note that final offer amount will be dependent on geographic location, applicable experience and skillset of the candidate.
