This position deals with all aspects of Audit execution from planning to reporting.
Key components of this role are analysis, documentation, data flows, visualization, interpreting and presenting data; and working with auditors as well as stakeholders to understand processes, audit objectives, risks, and controls in various business areas.
Responsibilities:
30% Design and execute data-driven audit tests, statistical analysis and data mining to identify anomalies, patterns, and potential control weaknesses with predictive analytics applications and identify trends, correlations, and predictive patterns that contribute to risk assessment and audit planning.
30% With minimal guidance, write, document and deploy custom code in a variety of environments. Provide training and technical support to users on how to effectively utilize the audit software with the collaboration of auditors and management. Provide support to IAS through software administration including user access maintenance.
20% Effectively communicate analysis output using the collected, organized, analyzed, and interpreted data after accuracy and efficiency is determined.
20% Perform code reviews to ensure all code from team adheres to standards as well as testing of functionality to ensure data and reporting quality.
Required Education: Associates degree
Required Relevant Experience: 3-5 Years
Required Knowledge, Abilities, Skills:
Technical Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications specifically Excel up to and including complex financial modeling using advanced formulas
- Proficient database language skills (SQL) including ETL, data mining, interpreting results, and identifying trends.
- Data visualization products and technologies (Tableau, Power BI).
- Expertise regarding data models, database design development and data mining.
Functional skills:
- Practical understanding of data analysis concepts, basic programming techniques, and operational structure of a financial institution
- Proven experience coordinating multiple projects/assignments simultaneously under minimal supervision and completing assigned tasks accurately and on a timely basis
- Must be able to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Must be detail oriented and an excellent time manager
- Ability to communicate effectively to a wide variety of people in a professional manner, face to face, on the telephone and in writing
- Desire for continuous education within audit and or data analytics to include CIA and CISA designations.
- Highest level of integrity and objectivity to preserve independence in all audit functions
- Flexibility and adaptability to adjust to changing project needs in evolving situations
- Must be able to speak English fluently
- Must adhere to the work schedule and attendance policy established by manager
Desired Education, Experience, Knowledge, Abilities, Skills:
- Credit Union or other financial institution experience
- Business intelligence and data analytics experience
- Four-year degree, or CCUE Certification, or Associate in Arts degree or Associate in Science degree via the North Carolina College Transfer Program (NC-CTP)
- Educational background in computer science, business, or mathematics is preferred, but deference will be given to requisite practical experience and interest in programming and statistical analysis in lieu of formal educational background
