Primary Function of this Role

 The Audit & Compliance Officer is responsible for supporting the Security Director in overseeing the audit program(s) as well as ensuring compliance with a range of statutory, regulatory and contractual requirements for the organization. This includes coordinating with company management to identify potential risks, implementing policies and procedures to uphold laws and regulations and monitoring the company’s adherence to those policies and procedures. The role also involves supporting HR in conducting background and KYC checks on employees and new hires, as well as supporting general security functions including investigations, balancing & spot checks in the precious metals storage Line of Business and providing security for special events, or whatever other task in the Security field the Security Director requests you to do.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, review (with Operations) and implement security procedures and programmes that reduce risk, limit liability exposure, and enhance the safety of employees and the public, and increase customer service levels.

  • Proactively identify & assess security risks, recommending and deploying measures to eliminate or minimise exposure.

  • Ensure security compliance in all facilities and Operations, this could also include equipment procurement and/ or installation processes.

  • Lead an effective security audit and inspection programme to ensure adherence to regulatory and company standards.

  • Ensure operations remain within agreed insurance limits, obtaining additional cover where necessary through the appropriate channels.

  • Manage compliance by third-party contractors and subcontractors relating to security services, based on the agreed SOP’s.

  • Supporting HR in conducting background and KYC checks on employees and new hires.

  • Assisting investigations both internal and / or external when necessary to identify compliance issues and provide Management with Corrective Action Reports.

  • Continuously revising standard operating procedures (SOPs), reports etc. to identify hidden risks or non-conformity issues in a continuously changing environment.

  • Collaborating with Regional compliance and legal and HR departments to monitor enforcement of standards, procedures and regulations.

  • Supporting general security functions including investigations and providing security for special events.

  • Preparing reports for senior management, external regulatory bodies and clients.

  • The compliance officer will also foster an ethical culture throughout the organisation, setting standards and expectations and influencing corporate conduct and decision-making processes. This responsibility extends beyond adherence to legal requirements to promote ethical practices that enhance the integrity and trustworthiness of Brink’s HK Ltd. and ensure brand integrity.

  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor including foreign travel.

Requirements for the Post

  • Diploma or higher.

  • Proficient in written and spoken English and Chinese.

  • 3-5 years of experience in a compliance, KYC, cross-border shipping, security, or law enforcement role.

  • Experience in investigating security incidents and/ claims.

  • Analytical skills.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with internal stakeholders and external partners.

  • Computer literate with all MS-Office software programs.

  • Proficiency in security-related software, technology, and equipment.

  • Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and crisis management skills.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

  • Self-motivated.
