Job Summary: This position is located in the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum (USHMM), Office of Information Technology (OIT), Washington, DC.
Major Duties:
Qualifications: Qualification requirements in the vacancy announcements are based on the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards Handbook, which contains federal qualification standards. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies; knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Basic Requirement: Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study -- photography, radio or television production, motion picture production, or other fields related to the position. Advanced training in a vocational school, technical institute, or art institute above the high school level in one of the fields listed above is creditable as general experience on a month-for-month basis. OR Experience Experience in the actual type of work for which application is made. Unpaid experience is creditable, provided the work done was of a quality level and demonstrated the ability required for the position. This includes work directly connected with the production aspects of the field(s) of the position to be filled. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the specialized experience listed below. Specialized Experience: Specialized experience is experience directly related to the position to be filled. Qualifying experience for GS- 14 includes one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-13 which is directly related to the work of this position and which has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. For this position, specialized experience is monitoring and maintaining both front-end and back-end systems infrastructure through daily inspections and proactive troubleshooting; serving as a technical lead and project manager for AV-related initiatives, including special events, exhibit technical designs, and conferencing solution; collaborating across the organization to provide AV solutions that support institutional requirements. ***Failure to submit required documentation will result in an ineligible rating.
