Job Summary: This position is located in the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum (USHMM), Office of Information Technology (OIT), Washington, DC.

Major Duties:

  • The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum is a federally chartered, nonpartisan institution that was created by the US Congress to serve as America's national memorial to the victims of the Holocaust and an educational institution dedicated to the history and lessons of the Holocaust. The Museum seeks to educate Americans from all 50 states and all walks of life as well as international audiences. The Museum has three areas of expertise: Holocaust remembrance, Holocaust scholarship and education, and genocide prevention. Duties include: Serve as a technical specialist for the design, implementation, and maintenance of the Museum's complex audiovisual infrastructure. Leads the design, development, implementation, and modification of Audiovisual systems. Serves as a technical lead and project manager for AV-related initiatives, including special events, exhibit technical designs, and conferencing solutions. Coordinates with stakeholders to develop and implement plans, pilot new technologies, and ensure 24/7 operational efficiency of museum exhibits. Acts as a subject matter expert to ensure high levels of customer engagement, efficiency, and cost savings within the IT department. Serves as a Contracting Officer's Representative (COR), providing specific technical input and oversight for AV projects and contracted services. Provides management with data on system utilization, growth patterns, and anticipated upgrade costs, while performing necessary administrative reporting and statistical summaries.

Basic Requirement: Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study -- photography, radio or television production, motion picture production, or other fields related to the position. Advanced training in a vocational school, technical institute, or art institute above the high school level in one of the fields listed above is creditable as general experience on a month-for-month basis. OR Experience Experience in the actual type of work for which application is made. Unpaid experience is creditable, provided the work done was of a quality level and demonstrated the ability required for the position. This includes work directly connected with the production aspects of the field(s) of the position to be filled. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the specialized experience listed below. Specialized Experience: Specialized experience is experience directly related to the position to be filled. Qualifying experience for GS- 14 includes one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-13 which is directly related to the work of this position and which has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. For this position, specialized experience is monitoring and maintaining both front-end and back-end systems infrastructure through daily inspections and proactive troubleshooting; serving as a technical lead and project manager for AV-related initiatives, including special events, exhibit technical designs, and conferencing solution; collaborating across the organization to provide AV solutions that support institutional requirements. ***Failure to submit required documentation will result in an ineligible rating.
