About the role
The Audio-Visual Supervisor, reporting to the Head of Technology, Innovation & Data, is responsible for overseeing all AV and low-voltage operations across the resort to ensure seamless technical support for events, guest rooms, and public spaces. This role manages AV setups, cabling infrastructure, passive network components, and advanced technologies such as Triple Play systems and CCTV, while supervising two AV technicians to maintain the highest standards of quality and reliability.

What you will do

  • Resort-Wide AV Management: Supervise AV setups for banquet halls, meeting rooms, outdoor venues, guest rooms, and public areas.
  • Triple Play & Guest Room Technology: Ensure proper installation, configuration, and maintenance of IPTV, high-speed internet, and telephony systems in guest rooms.
  • CCTV & Low-Voltage Systems: Oversee installation, monitoring, and maintenance of resort-wide CCTV systems and other low-voltage systems such as access control and public address.
  • Cabling & Passive Infrastructure:
    • Plan, install, and maintain structured cabling for AV and low-voltage systems, including coaxial and IP cabling.
    • Perform cable terminations (fiber, copper, coaxial) and ensure proper labeling and documentation.
    • Inspect and maintain passive components such as patch panels, racks, conduits, and cable trays.
  • Technical Expertise: Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot AV systems including sound, lighting, projection, video conferencing, IPTV, and low-voltage systems.
  • Event Coordination: Collaborate with Sales and Banquet teams to confirm AV requirements and provide tailored solutions.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections of AV, cabling, CCTV, and guest room technology infrastructure; ensure readiness and defect-free operation.
  • Guest Interaction: Provide professional, unobtrusive AV support during events and respond promptly to guest requests.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and guide two AV technicians, ensuring proper training on AV setup, cabling standards, low-voltage systems, and safety protocols.
  • Inventory Control: Manage AV equipment, cabling, CCTV, and low-voltage inventory; ensure timely repairs or replacements.
  • Compliance & Safety: Adhere to electrical and low-voltage standards; respond appropriately to emergencies.
  • Continuous Improvement: Recommend upgrades and innovations to enhance AV, cabling, and surveillance capabilities.

What you bring

  • People Management: Supervise two AV technicians; conduct daily briefings, assign tasks, set priorities, and oversee shift handovers.
  • Scheduling & Rostering: Create weekly/monthly duty rosters, on-call schedules, and event coverage plans to meet business demands.
  • Performance & Development: Set goals, conduct regular performance check-ins, deliver coaching, and build individual training plans (technical, service, safety).
  • SOPs & Standards: Develop, maintain, and enforce AV and low-voltage SOPs aligned with Four Seasons standards; ensure documentation is current and accessible.
  • KPIs & Reporting: Track and report key metrics (uptime, incident response/MTTR, preventive maintenance completion, guest satisfaction scores, SLA adherence).
  • Budget & Asset Management: Forecast and manage AV budgets; oversee asset lifecycle (procurement, tagging, maintenance, retirement) and spares.
  • Vendor & Contractor Management: Source and manage third-party vendors for cabling, CCTV, and AV; negotiate service scopes; ensure SLAs and compliance.
  • Project Management: Lead minor AV/low-voltage projects and upgrades; define scope, timelines, risk logs, and stakeholder communication plans.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Coordinate closely with IT, Engineering, Security, Conference Services, and Front Office for seamless operations.
  • Risk, Safety & Compliance: Conduct risk assessments; ensure compliance with low-voltage electrical codes and resort safety policies; run drills and toolbox talks.
  • Change & Configuration Control: Maintain configuration baselines for AV, CCTV, and Triple Play systems; manage changes with proper approvals and rollback plans.
  • Documentation & Knowledge Base: Maintain diagrams, cable maps, labeling standards, and troubleshooting guides; ensure accurate records in CMMS/EMS.
  • Minimum 3 years of AV and low-voltage experience in luxury hospitality or large-scale resort operations.
  • Strong knowledge of AV systems, Triple Play technology, CCTV systems, structured cabling, terminations, and passive network components.
  • Knowledge of passive network basics required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Work Environment & Conditions

  • Includes outdoor setups and high-pressure event timelines.

  • Physical demands beyond lifting, such as climbing ladders and working at heights.
  • Handling passive and technology asset moves may be required.
  • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs and work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Degree or certification in Audio/Visual or related field preferred.
  • Certifications such as CTS (Certified Technology Specialist), Low Voltage Electrical Certification, and Fiber Optic Technician Certification are assets.
  • Proficiency in English; Arabic is an asset.
  • Right to work in Egypt.
  • Expertise in sound, lighting, video systems, coaxial and IP cabling standards (TIA/EIA), and low-voltage systems.
  • Ability to make quick, informed decisions under pressure.
  • Strong problem-solving and adaptability.
  • Familiarity with event management software and basic IT systems.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of AV and low-voltage experience in luxury hospitality or large-scale resort operations.
  • Strong knowledge of AV systems, Triple Play technology, CCTV systems, structured cabling, terminations, and passive network components.
  • Knowledge of passive network basics required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
