About the Role(s):
The California Post is building out it's brand new audience development team, and we’re on the hunt for energetic, news-savvy individuals who know the cadence of a newsroom and live for fast-moving stories. We’re hiring across multiple levels, including:
Audience Development Specialist / Senior Specialist
Social Media Editor / Senior Social Media Editor
Senior Newsletter Manager
Social Content Creator
If you come from a newsroom or reporting background, and have experience in social media, newsletters, SEO, digital content growth, or audience engagement, we want to hear from you!
What You’ll Do (varies by level):
Track and analyze audience metrics such as traffic, engagement, conversions
Develop and execute growth strategies across social media, newsletters, SEO, and other digital channels
Collaborate with editorial and content teams to amplify stories and optimize reach
Lead projects, campaigns, and initiatives (senior/manager-level roles)
Mentor associates and coordinate cross-team efforts (senior/manager-level roles)
Build and maintain content calendars, dashboards, and audience growth experiments
Who You Are (varies by level):
Thrive in a fast-paced newsroom or digital content environment
Social media savvy, with experience in content optimization, SEO, newsletters, or audience growth
Strong communicator — written and verbal — and able to collaborate with editorial teams
Flexible, proactive, and ready to wear multiple hats
Salary Range: $65,000 – $120,000
Note: This range reflects multiple levels, from junior/associate specialists to senior specialists and manager roles, and will be adjusted based on experience and responsibilities.
