Qualification Requirements: The following minimum qualification requirements must be met in order for applicants to be considered for the position: Education Requirements: An applicant must have possession of the first professional law degree (LL.B. or J.D.) AND active membership in the bar of the highest court of a State, U.S. commonwealth, U.S. territory, or the District of Columbia. As indicated below, a law school transcript must be submitted with your application materials. Bar membership: Applicant must currently be active member in the bar of the highest court of a State, U.S. commonwealth, U.S. territory, or the District of Columbia. Experience Requirements: In addition to the requirements above, applicants for the GS-14 or equivalent Attorney position must also possess a robust background in labor and employment law, with a particular focus on litigation; demonstrate expertise in representing organizations in federal personnel and employment litigation to include handing cases across various administrative and judicial forums such as Merit System Protection Board (MSPB), the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the Federal Labor Relations Authority (FLRA), or federal district and appellate courts. Applicant must also have three (3) or more years of professional legal experience, acquired after being admitted to the bar, commensurate with the duties and responsibilities of the position. Graduation from an ABA-Accredited Law School in the top 25% of the class or an advanced law degree such as a LL.M may substitute for one year of the required professional legal experience.
