We are looking for a Future Project and R&T Engineer to come onboard in our Engineering Integration & Chief Engineering Directorate in Giovanna’s Future Projects and R&T team: a team of 10 collaborators!

Your Mission

As part of the Future Projects and R&T team within the Engineering Integration & Chief Engineering directorate, you will be in charge to evaluate new disruptive regional aircraft concepts and enhancements of ATR current platform, contributing to the roadmap of ATR future products.

                                                                                            

New ambitious targets for aviation emissions combined with an ongoing rise of air traffic demand motivate the research for cleaner propulsion systems and other technologies enabling emission reduction. As leader of the regional market, ATR fuel-efficient turboprop products are poised to become the next candidates in line to benefit from disruptive technologies relying on alternative power sources.

Your tasks will consist of:

• Assessing from a technical point of view new aircraft concepts and their potentials to improve operational performances and/or to reduce environmental impacts
• Contributing preliminary design studies in line with ATR product policy
• evaluate new disruptive technologies for regional aircraft application and their impact when integrated at aircraft level
• Analyze the requirements coming from the Program or/and Commercial in order to assess the impact at aircraft level and verify the suitability of different engineering solutions to match the given requirement and support Product policy studies.
• Contributing to ATR product policy by defining high level requirements for future ATR products (conventional and disruptive)
• Contributing to research joint studies with key industrial partners to develop the technologies and the competencies aimed to improve the aircraft conceptual design and components integration
• Contributing to the development of numerical simulation platforms to perform multidisciplinary optimizations for aircraft design and architecture
• Supporting the marketing department by providing engineering judgement and performing preliminary studies of potential competitors
• Presenting and reporting the progresses made on research projects and preliminary design activities to management, ATR internal customers and Public Institutions

About you

• Field of study in engineering
• Strong knowledge in aerodynamics, flight performances, overall aircraft design and systems integration
• At least 3 years of significant experience in preliminary aircraft design
• Good knowledge of programming languages (Python and Matlab)
• Good knowledge of preliminary aircraft design tools (e.g. PIANO, VSAERO, FAST, …)
• Knowledge in electrical systems and alternative fuels (SAF, Hydrogen) would be a plus
• Knowledge in hybrid and electrical propulsion system architectures and integration would be a plus
• Curious and autonomous with good communication skills
• Fluent in English and French (Italian is a plus)

Nous recherchons un Future Project and R&T Engineer pour rejoindre notre Direction Engineering Integration & Chief Engineering au sein de l'équipe de Future Project and R&T de Giovanna : une équipe de 10 collaborateurs !

Votre mission

Dans le cadre de l'équipe Future Projects and R&T au sein de la direction Engineering Integration & Chief Engineering, vous serez chargé(e) d’évaluer de nouveaux concepts d’avions régionaux disruptifs ainsi que des améliorations de la plateforme actuelle d’ATR, contribuant ainsi à la feuille de route des futurs produits ATR.

Les nouveaux objectifs ambitieux en matière d’émissions dans l’aviation, combinés à une augmentation continue de la demande en trafic aérien, motivent la recherche de systèmes de propulsion plus propres et d’autres technologies permettant de réduire les émissions. En tant que leader du marché régional, les produits turbopropulsés à faible consommation de carburant d’ATR sont bien positionnés pour bénéficier des technologies de rupture reposant sur des sources d’énergie alternatives.

Vos missions consisteront à :

• Évaluer, d’un point de vue technique, de nouveaux concepts d’avions et leur potentiel à améliorer les performances opérationnelles et/ou à réduire les impacts environnementaux
• Contribuer aux études de conception préliminaire en cohérence avec la politique produit d’ATR
• Évaluer les nouvelles technologies de rupture pour une application aux avions régionaux et leur impact lorsqu’elles sont intégrées au niveau de l’avion
• Analyser les exigences provenant du programme et/ou du département commercial afin d’évaluer leur impact au niveau de l’avion et de vérifier l’adéquation des différentes solutions d’ingénierie pour répondre aux exigences et soutenir les études de politique produit
• Contribuer à la politique produit d’ATR en définissant les exigences de haut niveau pour les futurs produits ATR (conventionnels et innovants)
• Participer aux études de recherche conjointes avec des partenaires industriels clés pour développer les technologies et les compétences visant à améliorer la conception conceptuelle de l’avion et l’intégration des composants
• Contribuer au développement de plateformes de simulation numérique pour réaliser des optimisations multidisciplinaires de la conception et de l’architecture des avions
• Soutenir le département marketing en apportant un jugement d’ingénierie et en réalisant des études préliminaires sur les concurrents potentiels
• Présenter et rapporter les avancées des projets de recherche et des activités de conception préliminaire à la direction, aux clients internes d’ATR et aux institutions publiques

A propos de vous

• Domaine d'études d’ingénieur avec spécialisation en aéronautique ou équivalent
• Solides connaissances en aérodynamique, performances en vol, conception globale d’avion et intégration des systèmes
• Au moins 3 ans d’expérience significative en conception préliminaire d’avions
• Bonne maîtrise des langages de programmation (Python et Matlab)
• Bonne connaissance des outils de conception préliminaire d’avions (par exemple : PIANO, VSAERO, FAST, …)
• Des connaissances en systèmes électriques et en carburants alternatifs (SAF, hydrogène) seraient un plus
• Des connaissances en architectures de propulsion hybride et électrique ainsi qu’en intégration seraient un plus
• Curieux(se) et autonome, avec de bonnes compétences en communication

• Maîtrise de l'anglais et du français (l'italien est un plus)
