Job Description:
Duties/Responsibilities
- Effectively manage the PRN Athletic Trainer pool and event coverage volunteers.
- Hire, onboard, supervise and provide initial and ongoing training for pool employees.
- Provide leadership for professional development and inclusion in sports medicine team.
- Develop policies and procedures pertaining to medical coverage activities.
- Initiate and facilitate contract process for new and ongoing coverage commitments.
- Manage purchase, distribution and inventory of medical supplies for approved events.
- Maintain record of inquiries, referrals and other measures of return on investment for athletic trainer outreach activities.
- Provide athletic training coverage.
- Identify, develop, and facilitate ongoing appropriate relationships to meet organizational goals including promote brand awareness, service line expertise and Scottish Rite programs.
- Introduce sports organization administrators, physicians / health care professionals and other community and social service providers to our programs.
- Identify opportunities for events, expert appearances and presentations to reach the organization’s referral targets.
- Effectively organizes, assembles, and arranges activations and provides resources.
- Make or facilitate clinical and outreach presentations to audiences including, but not limited to school-age, high school, coaches, athletic trainers and other professionals.
- Coordinate and effectively represent Scottish Rite and sports medicine programs through activation for sponsorship agreements, formal and informal partners and other outreach activities.
- Maintains record of each interaction or event with known or anticipated return on investment (ROI).
- Collaborate with Sports Medicine Outreach Manager.
- Establish and maintain internal and external lines of communication so that staff is aware of information impacting their jobs and referral source satisfaction.
- Participate as subject matter expert on content, education and other collateral development for formal and informal relationships to facilitate ongoing and new initiatives.
- Support sports medicine education initiatives with roles including but not limited to planning, marketing, event set up, event day facilitation.
- Develop and promote educational events, content and resources for the athletic trainer audience. Support all activities related to the Board of Certification for Athletic Trainers.
- Support physician outreach team initiatives and communications relationship/sponsorship activations.
- Provide athletic trainer support to Sports Medicine department as athletic trainer or with other duties as assigned.
- Reviews sports medicine outreach materials shared (digital, print, web-based) to staff and internal or external consumers to replenish or update with current, approved and reflect brand standards.
- Support other organizational operations including other outreach and educational events, daily campus operations, volunteer, research and development events and staff activities.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in an athletic training program or related field with a minimum 3-5 years of experience preferred.
- 1-2 years management and leadership experience preferred.
- Athletic Trainer license in the state of Texas required.
- Current BLS Provider certification required.
- Certification through the Athletic Trainers Board of Certification, Inc. required.
