Athletic Preceptor – Main Campus – College of Nursing and Health Care Professions

Are you passionate about shaping future health care leaders and helping students discover their purpose? The College of Nursing and Health Care Professions at GCU is seeking an Athletic Preceptor on our main campus.

What You Will Do

  • Remain current with new trends and development in your field of expertise
  • Supervise and provide formal or informal instruction to athletic training students in the clinical setting
  • Test clinical proficiency on a weekly basis; submit proficiency grades to Athletic Training Education Program in a timely manner
  • Verify students are meeting their hour requirements for successful completion of the clinical course
  • Support program initiatives and demonstrate alignment with the philosophy and direction of the University
  • Provide a positive example by supporting GCU’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement, and Mission

What You Will Bring

  • A Master’s or Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of 1 year Board of Training certification (please attach to application)
  • Arizona state athletic training license (please attach to application]
  • Must successfully pass a drug screen test.
  • Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.
  • Must be a current staff member with managerial approval, salaried status, rather than hourly.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build supportive relationships with students
  • Proficiency in English, grammar, and APA writing
  • Commitment to modeling GCU’s mission and values
