Associate Wealth Advisor, Wealth Management

As an Associate Wealth Advisor on the Wealth Management team, you support complex client relationships by partnering closely with Lead Relationship Managers and internal service teams to deliver comprehensive wealth planning solutions. This role is responsible for client data analysis, wealth plan support, research, and preparation of materials that enable effective client servicing and strategic decision‑making for high‑income, high‑net‑worth, and ultra‑high‑net‑worth individuals and families.

Key Responsibilities

Client & Wealth Planning Support

Collect, organize, and maintain comprehensive client personal and financial profile data.

Analyze and synthesize client information to support the development of customized wealth plans, including wealth management, wealth transfer, and tax‑efficient strategies.

Conduct fundamental research on wealth planning solutions, products, and strategies to support client objectives.

Prepare fee analyses for Northern Trust and third‑party products and services.

Develop presentations and supporting materials for client meetings and reviews.

Service Execution & Coordination

Partner with Lead Relationship Managers to support day‑to‑day client servicing activities and issue resolution.

Coordinate with internal service teams to determine service requirements, support transaction processing, and ensure timely execution of client requests.

Communicate effectively with internal partners, external advisors, and other stakeholders to obtain and deliver wealth planning information.

Deliver accurate, high‑quality work products that require minimal revision and reflect strong technical proficiency.

Collaboration & Business Support

Support client meetings, discussions, and ongoing relationship management activities.

Facilitate discussions, contribute to decision‑making, and serve as a subject matter expert within area of expertise.

Act as a mentor and technical resource to junior team members; may oversee daily operational activities without formal people‑management responsibility.

Participate in interactions with committees and/or senior management as needed.

Maintain working knowledge of systems, tools, and applications critical to wealth planning and client service delivery.

Qualifications

Required

3–5 years of experience in financial or wealth planning, analysis, or related roles supporting high‑income or high‑net‑worth individuals and families.

Knowledge of financial services, financial markets, and financial planning concepts.

Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Ability to work independently and manage complex responsibilities with sound judgment.

Preferred

Progress toward or attainment of professional designations such as CFP®, MBA, or similar advanced credentials.

Demonstrated technical depth in an area of expertise with broader awareness of related disciplines.

Work Environment
This is a hybrid position. Employees are expected to work onsite a minimum of three (3) days per week to support effective collaboration, teamwork, and client service delivery.

Salary Range:

$114,540 - 194,580 USD

Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
