Job Description

What is the opportunity?

Lending Services within COO includes three pillars working collaboratively to provide end to end service support to our Capital Markets and BFS business partners for lending products and supporting administrative agent responsibilities when mandated. The prime objective of the Associate, Verification position is to provide verification support to the deal closings and day-to-day administration / processing of an assigned group of Borrowers for which RBC is a counterparty in primary syndications or secondary loan trading, Lender Participant and/or Administrative Agent and their related credit facilities, loan drawings, fee and interest payments.

What will you do?

  • Responsible for ensuring loan integrity and compliance against bank policies, agent notices and loan credit agreement.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert for escalated client and agent bank inquiries, investigating and resolving issues related to transaction processing.

  • Responsible to interact with internal stakeholders as required to facilitate loan servicing.

  • Provides expert processing and verification advice and support to peer Associates and Analysts including monitoring advancement of funds within the Credit Agreement terms, as well as post sales servicing across the Wholesale Loan Book in Capital Markets.

  • Provides relief for Manager Verification, peer Associates and Analysts during vacations and other absences, and assists with the development of peer Analysts through coaching and training.

  • Identify operational risks, implement tactical controls, and escalate critical issues to leadership to align with RBC’s commitment to mutual success.

  • Collaborate across functional pillars to deliver efficient, client-centric solutions while maintaining compliance and risk awareness.

What you need to succeed?

Must-haves

  • Undergraduate degree with 2+ years of operational experience in lending/credit, including expertise in syndication practices, loan documentation, and cross-border markets (Canada, US, UK/EU, SY).

  • Proficient skills in ACBS, CID, TMS, Excel, and Word, with a proven ability to adapt to complex systems and technologies

  • Strong knowledge of loan products, rate-setting mechanisms, payment processes, and loan trading workflows

  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective partnerships with internal teams, borrowers, syndicate participants, and trading counterparties

  • Strong multitasking, prioritization, and time management skills to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • Exceptional attention to detail, sound judgment, and flexibility in handling non-standard requests (e.g., accommodations outside credit agreement terms).

  • Superior written and verbal communication skills for clear stakeholder engagement

  • Equally effective working autonomously or as part of a team, with a commitment to RBC’s client-centric and risk-aware culture.
