Overview
The Secure SDLC Team is looking for an Associate Product Owner Contractor. The Associate product owner role is suited for an early-career professional who has foundational exposure to application security and product or program work, and is eager to grow technical and security expertise under guidance
Role
You will support and help scale the Security Champions Program by driving execution, coordination, and continuous improvement across onboarding, training, communications, and reporting.
Program Ownership & Execution
Own and manage assigned components of the Security Champions Program (e.g., onboarding, documentation, communications)
Maintain and prioritize a program backlog under guidance from senior product and security leaders
Coordinate Champion training sessions, enablement activities, and engagement initiatives
Collaboration & Enablement
Partner with application security and engineering teams to help communicate security guidance and best practices
Support cross‑functional collaboration across security, engineering, and product teams
Reporting & Documentation
Track and report program metrics such as participation, adoption, and training completion
Maintain program documentation, playbooks, and internal resources
Identify process improvement opportunities and contribute ideas to enhance program effectiveness over time
Growth & Development
Grow technical knowledge in application security and secure development
Receive mentorship from senior product and security professionals
Develop toward future roles such as Technical Product Owner or Security Program Manager

You are organized, curious, and eager to grow in a security‑focused, technical program role.
Technical Skills & Experience
Foundational understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
Basic knowledge of application security concepts, including common vulnerability types (e.g., OWASP Top 10)
Exposure to application security activities such as vulnerability tracking or secure development practices
Familiarity with engineering and tracking tools (e.g., GitHub or Azure DevOps, Jira, Confluence)
Ability to work with technical stakeholders and clearly summarize requirements
Experience & Mindset
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Curious, eager to learn, and interested in security enablement and developer experience
Comfortable working in a structured environment with clear processes and room for growth
