Role Summary
The Indirect Tax Specialist is responsible for ensuring high quality and timely delivery of the Indirect Tax processes with focus on compliance activities and statutory requirements while having available the most advanced technology and support of tier 1 tax services provider.
The role requires a comprehensive understanding of VAT/GST rules and practice primarily in EMEA region. Nevertheless, the scope of the countries in this role is truly global and offers opportunity to extend the tax knowledge and work experience in EMEA, LATAM region.
Your Responsibilities Will Be
· Actively support colleagues in indirect tax team with the review process to ensure accurate VAT filing globally.
· Assist with the design, improvement and maintenance of indirect tax compliance controls and processes.
· Support GST/VAT audits in close cooperation with Local Finance, internal shared services teams.
· Work closely with our external Tax consultant (EY) to ensure the submission of the filing.
· Advise our AtR, OtC and StS support teams on day-to-day indirect tax matters.
· Pro-actively identify opportunities to optimize tax positions and/or mitigate potential tax risks, and to continuously improve the indirect tax compliance process.
· Accuracy, quality, and integrity in all activities.
Qualifications
· Master/bachelor’s degree preferably in international tax law, fiscal/business economics, or accounting.
· At least 1 year of indirect tax experience or 3 years in accounting with an international tax advisory firm and/or large multinational company.
· Fluent English (both speaking and writing). Additional language skills are plus.
· Advanced experience with indirect tax condition logic and IT systems (e.g., SAP, Vertex, S4Hana or similar).
· Experience with tax compliance in EMEA and/or LATAM is an advantage.
· Problem solving and analytical skills with a proactive approach to propose solutions.
· Ability to work independently towards the result, capable of handling multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
· Possess strong knowledge of the best relevant practices.
