The Associate Social Media Editor will join a new team within the Transaction department at People Inc. and will be responsible for the creation of social media content to market and build an audience for a new product. This role requires someone who is passionate about social media content, social media marketing, and shopping. They will write, film, star in, and edit social media content that acquires and engages a loyal following and converts them into loyal users. This role will report to the Senior Social Media Editor.
Your day-to-day:
Pitch, write scripts for, shoot, and edit short-form video content for Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook
Support the execution of the brand’s content strategy across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and emerging formats
Pitch original content ideas and contribute to brainstorming sessions
Write engaging hooks and captions aligned with the brand’s voice
Collaborate with creative, design, and marketing teams to support broader campaigns and storytelling initiatives
Assist in maintaining weekly and monthly editorial calendars and help prepare content in advance of key marketing moments
Produce additional formats, including static graphics, carousels, GIFs, and Instagram Stories
Stay up to date on platform trends, current events, and algorithm changes to inform content creation and strategy
Attend in-person events and activations as needed to capture social content
Support community management efforts by responding to comments, engaging with followers, and interacting with relevant accounts
Monitor conversations related to the brand across social channels
This position is hybrid in-office.

The Role’s Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent training and/or experience.
Experience:
A social media editor or content creator with at least 2 years of experience
Specific Knowledge, Skills, Certifications and Abilities:
Familiar with TikTok, Instagram, and emerging social platforms along with scheduling and analytical tools like Dash Social
Experienced with using editing tools such as CapCut or similar video platforms
Passionate about content creation, digital culture, and shopping
Comfortable on camera and excited to create video content
A strong communicator with an understanding of tone and voice
Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

Pay Range
Salary: New York: $67,000.00 - $75,000.00The pay range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position and may change in the future. Actual pay may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of People Inc's total compensation package for employees. Other compensation may include annual bonuses, and short- and long-term incentives.
