Job Summary:
The Associate Security Supervisor is responsible for enforcing security policies and procedures to safeguard the organization and its assets, while also serving as the site-level Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) Compliance Officer. This dual role involves conducting security assessments, monitoring surveillance systems, responding to incidents, and ensuring compliance with federal CUI regulations. The supervisor will collaborate with various departments and external stakeholders to maintain a secure environment, manage security technology and personnel, and ensure compliance with the organization’s CUI program at the site level.

Key Responsibilities:

Security Supervision and Operations

  • Assist with implementing security policies and procedures to protect the organization and its assets, working with division security leadership.
  • Conduct routine security assessments to identify risks and vulnerabilities, crafting strategies for risk reduction.
  • Monitor surveillance and alarm systems, responding swiftly to security breaches or incidents.
  • Liaise with law enforcement, emergency services, and relevant stakeholders during security emergencies.
  • Regularly inspect and maintain security equipment (CCTV, access control, alarms) to ensure proper functioning.
  • Supervise day-to-day operations of security systems, coordinating service with vendors for malfunctioning equipment.
  • Investigate security incidents and breaches, preparing comprehensive reports with recommendations for improvement.
  • Collaborate with departments to integrate security measures into operational facets, including events and employee safety.
  • Stay updated on evolving security trends, technologies, and regulations, providing recommendations for enhancements.
  • Conduct security vulnerability assessments related to building penetration, transportation and storage of precious metals, and intellectual property theft.
  • Control and monitor access points for personnel, visitors, and vehicles, verifying credentials and maintaining logs in conjunction with reception.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility and its perimeter to deter unauthorized access or suspicious activity.
  • Serve as the primary on-site responder to security incidents such as theft, vandalism, and safety violations.
  • Manage contractor compliance with safety training requirements, including confined space and elevated heights.
  • Maintain control of truck access to the facility, supporting the shipping and receiving team.

CUI Compliance Officer Responsibilities

  • Assist with implementing the organization’s CUI policies and procedures at the site level, ensuring all site activities involving CUI comply with federal regulations (e.g., NIST SP 800-171, DFARS clauses).
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for CUI compliance matters at the site.
  • Coordinate and deliver CUI awareness and handling training to all site personnel who access or manage CUI; ensure new employees receive CUI training as part of onboarding.
  • Maintain training records in system and verify personnel complete required CUI training.
  • Assist in defining and enforcing role-based access controls for CUI at the site.
  • Review and approve access requests to CUI systems and data in coordination with data owners.
  • Periodically review user access rights to ensure compliance with the principle of least privilege.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments of CUI handling practices at the site.
  • Monitor compliance with CUI policies and report any deviations or incidents.
  • Coordinate with internal or external auditors during compliance reviews.
  • Serve as the site-level point of contact for reporting CUI-related security incidents or breaches.
  • Coordinate incident response activities in accordance with organizational procedures.
  • Document and report incidents to higher-level compliance or security teams as required.
  • Maintain accurate records related to CUI handling, training, access approvals, and incident reports.
  • Ensure that CUI markings, storage, transmission, and destruction are properly documented and compliant.
  • Identify gaps or weaknesses in CUI compliance at the site and recommend corrective actions.
  • Participate in updates to policies and procedures based on regulatory changes or audit findings.
  • Promote a culture of CUI security and compliance among site personnel.
  • Liaise with corporate compliance, security teams, and other stakeholders to align site activities with overall CUI program goals.
  • Communicate changes in CUI requirements or policies to site staff promptly.

Required Skills:

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities to analyze complex security and compliance issues.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, engaging confidently with individuals at all organizational levels.
  • Expertise in security principles, including risk assessment, threat analysis, emergency response planning, and CUI compliance.
  • Proficiency in operating security technology such as CCTV, access control systems, and alarms.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a composed demeanor during high-pressure situations.
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of federal CUI regulations and standards (e.g., NIST SP 800-171, DFARS).

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; a bachelor's degree in criminal justice or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience in a security leadership role, with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Previous experience in law enforcement, military, or private security is highly desirable.
  • Valid security license or certification (e.g., Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Certified Security Professional (CSP), or Certified Protection Officer (CPO)).
  • Ability to pass a comprehensive background check.
  • Physical fitness and ability to perform security duties, including standing, walking, patrolling, and responding to emergencies.

Experience:

  • Required: Previous leadership in a security role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Preferred: Security experience in a high-security/high-value commodity organization.
  • Years of Experience: 3+ years of security experience


 

The selection of the person to be hired for this position is contingent on the candidate having export compliance eligibility for access to U.S. controlled technology which comes under the licensing jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of State, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the U.S. Department of Commerce, Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
