Ready to level-up your career at the company leading workforce transformation in the agentic era? You’re in the right place! Agentforce is the future of AI, and you are the future of Salesforce.

Job Description

Salesforce Ventures is a financially driven VC dedicated to partnering with best-in-class entrepreneurs across the enterprise technology ecosystem. Founded in 2009, SFV has invested $6B+ in capital across 700+ companies in 32 countries, with a team of 38 professionals and offices in San Francisco, New York, London, and Tokyo. The portfolio includes 35 IPOs, 190+ M&A exits, and companies representing 150k+ employees. Notable investments include Anthropic, Databricks, Snowflake, Wiz, ElevenLabs, Hugging Face, Cohere, Mistral AI, Vercel, DocuSign, Box, Twilio, and Zoom.

SFV operates with the agility of a multi-stage venture partner while wielding the credibility and uncommon access of Salesforce. Salesforce is the sole source of capital, and SFV invests with patient capital and an evergreen funding model, from seed (<$5M) through growth-stage ($50M+). Of the 700+ investments made to date, Salesforce has acquired less than 3% of portfolio companies. Core investment areas include cloud infrastructure, security, generative AI, horizontal and vertical SaaS, and impact (climate tech, edtech, health tech, financial inclusion).

The Role

We are hiring an Associate to join the SFV investing team. This is not the traditional associate role. SFV is actively rebuilding the junior investor function around AI-native workflows, and the Associate will help define what the modern VC role looks like. The right hire uses AI to move faster through commodity diligence work and redirects that time toward the judgment-intensive tasks that still require a human in the loop: founder assessment, thesis development, customer discovery, and portfolio company value-add.

This candidate would be based out of the firm's San Francisco or New York office, and the role has the potential to be a career-track position.

Responsibilities

  • Source and evaluate potential investments, developing new theses based on market trends and emerging technology shifts

  • Conduct end-to-end due diligence, including customer references, financial modeling, market mapping, competitive analysis, and technical moat evaluation

  • Build and refine AI-augmented sourcing and diligence workflows (automated market mapping, real-time competitive intelligence, structured IC prep)

  • Build positive relationships with entrepreneurs and co-investors

  • Support portfolio companies around strategic planning, hiring, financing, and Salesforce ecosystem introductions

  • Maintain persistent, AI-monitored research streams across priority investment themes and synthesize insights into investable theses

  • Assist investment partners and contribute to firm initiatives

  • Drive projects independently and exhibit tireless work ethic

Requirements

  • 1-3+ years in venture capital, growth equity, investment banking, consulting, or at a high-growth startup

  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills

  • Genuine interest in enterprise technology, B2B SaaS, and emerging infrastructure trends

  • Demonstrated comfort with AI tools in a professional workflow: using LLMs for research synthesis, building automations, scripting with tools like Cursor or Claude Code, or designing AI-assisted analytical pipelines

  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple workstreams, and operate with minimal direction

  • Strong written and verbal communication; can synthesize complex topics into clear, concise recommendations

  • Degree or equivalent relevant experience required. Experience will be evaluated based on the Values & Behaviors for the role (e.g. extracurricular leadership roles, military experience, volunteer roles, work experience, etc.)

  • Based in or willing to relocate to San Francisco or New York

Nice to Have

  • Undergraduate degree in a scientific or technical field

  • Direct exposure to AI/ML, cybersecurity, or defense tech markets

  • Experience building founder relationships or sourcing deals

  • Technical fluency sufficient to hold credible conversations with engineering-oriented founders and CTOs

  • Prior startup operating experience

  • Experience with agent frameworks, MCP, or building internal tools

  • Familiarity with the enterprise AI adoption landscape: understands the difference between demo-ware and production deployment, and why change management is the real bottleneck
