As an Associate Risk Manager in our Group Financial Risk – Funding & Liquidity Risk Management team, you’ll work within ING’s global risk framework. The team

The Group Funding & Liquidity Risk team is responsible for ING’s global funding and liquidity risk management and has high visibility impact through the analysis and advice on key developments to senior management. We proactively design and implement risk practices that safeguard ING’s liquidity position in the ever‑changing economic and financial landscapes.

Join our team of professionals located in Amsterdam, the global expertise centre, where you will have the opportunity to connect with various stakeholders across business lines and geographies. You will support the monitoring and identification of important developments on ING’s balance sheet and the external environment while developing your expertise in a fast‑paced global environment.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyse key balance sheet and market developments relevant for ING’s funding and liquidity position, with guidance from senior colleagues.
  • Contribute to initiatives in the quantification, modelling and stress testing of funding and liquidity risks.
  • Prepare analyses and contribute to forward‑looking risk assessments and solutions within defined funding and liquidity risk topics.
  • Support the review and challenge of ING’s funding strategy and funding structure at Group as well as subsidiary level, together with senior risk managers.
  • Support ING’s alignment with supervisory expectations and support preparations for discussions with the ECB and SRB.
  • Work with key stakeholders including Group Treasury, Finance, Financial Markets, and the Wholesale and Retail business lines to provide analytical input and risk support.

To thrive in this role, you bring:

  • Strong quantitative skills and a good understanding of funding and liquidity risk management, including balance sheet dynamics, liquidity metrics and funding structures.
  • Typically 3–5 years of relevant experience in funding and liquidity risk, ALM, Treasury or related analytical roles.
  • Developing knowledge of balance sheet dynamics.
  • Ability to understand the complexities of a global bank with cross‑border operations and various regulatory requirements.
  • Skill in analysing complex concepts and translating these into simple, concise narratives for management.
  • Academic level, preferably in Economics, Econometrics or Finance.
  • Python proficiency is a strong plus.

  • A flexible team player with an excellent command of English.
  • Strong prioritization, communication and analytical capabilities.
  • Able to effectively deal with situations involving conflicting interests and fast‑evolving challenges.
