WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

The Capital Markets Treasury Quantitative Analytics team works with the RBC Capital Markets Treasury Front Office in the funding & liquidity and cash management business. In this role you will be responsible for developing / implementing new and maintaining / enhancing the existing interest rate, FX and credit spread product models, with a heavy emphasis on the fund pricing, liquidity management and balance sheet forecasting. This role’s main contribution is to ensure that Capital Markets Treasury is equipped with suitable analytical models and tools for the current and future market conditions, following the best industrial practices and up to regulatory standards.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

  • Apply quantitative skills to design, implement, test, and roll out the rate and spread product models in the current analytical environment.

  • Provide BAU and Ad hoc analytical support to the Capital Markets Treasury business stakeholders including traders, risk managers, and product controllers.

  • Support the preparation of model documentation and validation submissions, as well as tracking the model performance, per the internal policies and regulatory guidelines.

  • Review and comply with firm policies applicable to business activities.

  • Escalate operational risk events, control deficiencies and risks identified to the line manager and the relevant risk and control functions on a timely basis.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?

 Must have:

  • Ph.D or Master’s degree in one of quantitative areas such as mathematics, statistics, physics or computer science

  • Solid knowledge of financial instruments and derivatives, such as bonds, IR swaps, futures, and forwards, as well as related pricing and risk management models. Hand-on experience in developing interest rate and spread product models is preferable

  • Proficient in Python is a must

  • Must be a proactive AI learner and adopter

  • Highly detail oriented and organized; good communication skills in both verbal and writing

Nice-to-have: 

  • Broad knowledge of market risk and regulations is good to have

  • Working experience on AI tools such as Copilot, Claude Code and Windsurf is great to have

  • Working experiencing on C++, C#, VBA and enterprise tools such as GitHub is preferable

  • Previous experience in data analytics, balance sheet management, Hedge Accounting and IRRBB is a plus
