Associate Product Manager - Connected Ecosystems - Digital-Physical Worlds

Dunedin, New Zealand Full time

The Role

Fisher & Paykel is one of New Zealand's best-known brands, a global company with a strong heritage. Our New Zealand origins, curious nature and passion to develop products designed around people are core elements that make us unique. Driven by our brand values of being trusted, sustainably minded, innovative, generous and curious, as a team we take a collaborative approach, have a culture where ideas are heard, and are united in our leading goal to be the world's most human-centred, #1 home appliances brand.

Fisher & Paykel’s Connected Ecosystem connects the virtual and physical worlds through the Internet of Things (IoT), intelligently integrating and automating the whole home. We bring our products to life through remote management and control via smartphones, smart home integrations, and rich content and service experiences.

Based at our Dunedin Design Centre, as an Associate Product Manager, you’ll help shape the future of these connected experiences. Working closely with Product Managers and cross-functional teams, you’ll support the strategy, planning and delivery of IoT-enabled products that bridge the physical and digital worlds.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll define product opportunities, translate insights into clear requirements, drive delivery, and support product performance in market. It’s an exciting opportunity to grow your product career and help shape the future of the connected home.

What you’ll be doing...

Product Leadership

  • Contribute to the product vision and roadmap through insight-led thinking and customer understanding.
  • Conduct research and analysis to understand user needs, market dynamics, and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop prioritised backlogs and actionable product plans.
  • Translate ideas and opportunities into clear, validated requirements that deliver real user and business value.

Product Delivery

  • Support the planning and delivery of product features from concept to launch.
  • Work closely with designers, developers, and ecosystem delivery teams to ensure high-quality execution.
  • Apply agile and iterative methodologies to test, learn, and evolve products in market.
  • Track progress, manage documentation, and adapt plans as needed to maintain momentum.

Product Performance

  • Monitor performance across key metrics including usage, engagement, adoption, and customer feedback.
  • Identify opportunities to improve user outcomes and reduce friction.
  • Contribute to initiatives that grow and retain active users and support revenue goals.
  • Use data and insights to guide continuous improvement and product optimisation.

Connected Ecosystem Development

  • Contribute to building and scaling an ecosystem of digital experiences that extend the value of physical products.
  • Support integrations, partnerships, and complementary services that enhance product stickiness and lifetime value.
  • Ensure all work is grounded in user needs and aligned with the overall ecosystem strategy.

Who you are

You’ll bring 2–4 years’ experience in product management, product ownership, digital delivery or a related role, ideally with exposure to customer-facing digital products in agile environments. You’ll be confident working across user research, data analysis, backlog management, and cross-functional collaboration, supported by a tertiary qualification in a relevant field such as Business, Marketing, Product Design, Engineering or Computer Science.

Certifications in product management, UX or agile practices are advantageous, as is familiarity with connected device ecosystems, mobile apps, or subscription-based services.

You’re a strong communicator with sharp problem-solving skills, a user-first mindset, and the confidence to work with ambiguity. You understand agile and lean product development, have a grasp of design thinking and digital product strategy, and can turn ideas into clear actions. Above all, you’re curious, adaptable and collaborative, and thrive on learning and building strong cross-functional relationships.
