Job Description Summary
The Associate Procurement Buyer is responsible for the purchasing of goods and services from approved suppliers, in a manner consistent with approved quality standards and delivery requirements. The Associate Procurement Buyer may also be required to support the development of the purchasing function to advance department or organizational goals, objectives, and interests. Finally, the Associate Procurement Buyer is also responsible for the day-to-day resolution of stakeholder and supplier issues. The position will work with Plant and Administrative Personnel, Corporate Procurement, and external suppliers.
Job Description
Incorporate sourcing, contracting, and supplier management principles into daily work activities
Gather necessary information to complete sourcing events (spot buys), support negotiations, support contracting, support supplier implementation, and support supplier management activities as required
Purchase assigned items, supplies and materials or services in accordance with approved buying programs using the established procurement policy
Assist with projects at manager's direction
Document and resolve supplier quality and performance problems using KPI’s, by identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence
Assist customs brokers as necessary with entry data accuracy, regulations compliance, parts classification, and transfer pricing agreements for customs processing
Assist in identification and implementation of cost improvement projects
Assist plant procurement resources with category or supplier issues
Assists with identification, development, and implementation of initiatives providing working capital reductions
Assist with forecasting, invoice reconciliation, and good receipts in support of business continuity
Solve supply and service problems, ensuring high levels of pricing / contract compliance and seamless customer service to all Lamb Weston stakeholders
Basic & Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree preferred; or equivalent related experience or training
3+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or related field.
3+ years in working in a supply chain or manufacturing firm preferred
Ability to leverage computer software programs, specifically SAP or a comparable ERP solution, in addition to office productivity tools
Ability to manage multiple priorities or projects
Ability to influence management and build teams
Ability to work independently and as a team player, be organized, and plan ahead
Ability to maintain, develop, and execute departmental vision
Excellent problem solving, interpersonal, and organizational skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to learn quickly while also leading and teaching others
Valid Driver’s License and driving record that meets Lamb Weston Driving Standards
Ability to travel up to 10%
