Associate Principal, Cloud Engineering

Duties:

Utilize experience with IT systems installation, operations, administration, and maintenance of virtualized servers and cloud systems to provide professional input to the organization for cloud and virtualization end-to-end architecture and IaaS, as well as PaaS and SaaS solutions for future state. Design, develop, and build the business’s cloud infrastructure architecture based on knowledge of infrastructure design and components including servers, operating systems, networking and storage (basic). Develop and maintain a library of deployable, tested, and documented automation design scripts, processes, and procedures utilizing scripting and development skills including Python, Ruby, Go, and Java. Enable DevOps development activities and complex development tasks that involve working with tools such as Docker, Kafka and container management systems. Implement CI/CD pipelines and templates for container-based services on Kubernetes using helm charts and data processing pipelines based on organization standards and CICD best practices using Jenkins. Deploy, manage and support real time stream service Kafka cluster and Zookeepers on AWS ECS, monitor health checks and validate performance and functionality of application systems by running post deployment smoke tests. Automate the creation of Infrastructure resources as code (IaC) using Terraform and multiple operational tasks utilizing various AWS services (e.g., Lambda), Python programming and Bash scripting. Use monitoring tools, including CloudWatch, Grafana, Prometheus, and Splunk, to configure checks and trigger alerts based on thresholds. Perform cloud computing and virtual environment build-outs, software installation, maintenance and support. Write and maintain documentation of relevant operating procedures and processes. Implement production changes during defined maintenance windows and support on call rotation. Up to 40% telecommuting permitted. $180,700-$223,200

Compensation

  • The salary range listed for any given position is exclusive of fringe benefits and potential bonuses. If hired at OCC, your final base salary compensation will be determined by factors such as skills, experience and/or education.
