About the Role
As an Associate People Business Partner at GlossGenius, you will be a critical partner to our Sales and Customer Experience organizations. This is a high-impact role for someone who believes that great people operations doesn't just support a business; it accelerates it. You'll partner closely with managers and leaders across these teams to build and maintain a high-performance culture, execute core people processes, and — critically — help scale manager capability through AI-enabled systems and workflows. As GlossGenius continues to grow, we are investing deeply in managers who can think and operate with leverage; you'll be a key architect of that transformation.
You will report to the Manager, People Business Partner and will be based in New York City. We default to being in-office 3-4 days per week with required attendance on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
What You'll Do
- Serve as a trusted People partner to managers and leaders across Sales and Customer Experience (and other groups as needed), providing guidance on performance, development, organizational effectiveness, and employee relations
- Own and execute core people processes end-to-end — performance reviews, talent calibrations, engagement surveys, and action planning — ensuring they run efficiently and deliver meaningful outcomes
- Scale manager effectiveness by designing and facilitating training programs that equip leaders to coach, develop, and retain their teams; build systems and resources that enable managers to operate independently and at scale
- Champion an AI-first approach to people business partnership — partnering with managers to build AI-powered workflows, tools, and decision-support systems that increase throughput, scale performance management, and reduce operational drag across the employee lifecycle
- Identify trends in performance, engagement, and attrition data and translate them into actionable recommendations for business leaders
- Partner cross-functionally to support headcount planning, compensation decisions, and compliance
- Support employee relations matters with care, consistency, and sound judgment, escalating appropriately when needed
- Contribute to the broader People team's roadmap by bringing a builder's mindset to programs, processes, and tools that don't yet exist
What We're Looking For
- 2+ years of HR, People Operations, or People Business Partner experience, ideally at a high-growth startup
- Demonstrated ability to execute people processes — performance reviews, calibrations, manager training — with rigor and follow-through
- Proven experience and a track record of successfully applying AI tools and intelligent automation to reshape and improve core HR functions.
- Strong analytical instincts — you're comfortable pulling and interpreting data to identify trends and build a case for action
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills; you can earn trust with ICs and senior leaders alike
- A self-starter orientation — you thrive in ambiguous environments, can take a problem from 0 to 1, and don't wait to be told what to do
- High empathy paired with high standards; you hold people accountable while treating them with respect
