HOW YOU WILL MAKE HISTORY HERE…
As an Associate Paralegal, Intellectual Property, you will play a key role in protecting Campbell’s iconic brands, including Campbell’s soups, Chunky soups, Pepperidge Farm baked goods, Goldfish crackers, Rao’s Homemade sauces, V8 beverages, Swanson broths, Prego sauces, Pace salsas, Milano cookies, Cape Cod and Kettle Brand potato chips, Lance sandwich crackers, Late July snacks, Snyder’s of Hanover and Snack Factory pretzels, Michael Angelo’s frozen goods, SpaghettiOs pasta, and Pacific Foods broths, soups, and non-dairy beverages. You will serve as a commercially minded, pragmatic business partner who helps safeguard and grow our intellectual property assets.
WHAT YOU WILL DO…
Enforce IP Rights: Support enforcement of Campbell’s IP rights against third-party infringement by monitoring unauthorized uses, developing enforcement strategies, sending cease-and-desist letters, negotiating resolutions, and assisting with litigation or administrative actions.
Defend Against IP Claims: Assist in managing IP claims against the company, including negotiating settlements and supporting litigation or administrative proceedings.
IP Transactions & External Development: Help achieve business goals through negotiating, drafting, and enforcing IP agreements for licensing, acquisitions, divestitures, merchandise programs, and internal corporate agreements.
Global IP Portfolio Management: Support trademark clearance, protection, and use by counseling on mark selection, reviewing clearance searches, coordinating filings and renewals with outside counsel, and advising on proper trademark usage.
Preventive Law & Compliance: Promote IP awareness, effective communication, and compliance to avoid mistakes and ensure excellence in IP-related processes and policies.
Financial Management: Deliver cost-effective legal services through careful budgeting and management of outside counsel and vendors.
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH…
You will be based at Campbell’s World Headquarters in Camden, New Jersey, as part of the Legal Department, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams and numerous internal clients in a team-oriented environment.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE… (MUST HAVE)
BA/BS from an accredited college or university.
Minimum of 3 years of law firm and/or in-house IP experience.
Excellent analytical and communication skills (oral and written).
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills; proven team player.
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to interact effectively with business partners and operate with limited supervision.
IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU HAVE… (NICE TO HAVE)
Experience with global trademark portfolio management.
Familiarity with IP enforcement strategies and litigation support.
Exposure to IP transactions, licensing, and compliance programs.
Budget management and vendor oversight experience.
Compensation and Benefits:
The target base salary range for this full-time, salaried position is between
$70,700-$101,700Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation. In addition, we offer competitive health, dental, 401k and wellness benefits beginning on the first day of employment.
