The Opportunity

Key responsibilities:

Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer is presently recruiting for group DG3 which comprises six partners and approximately 40 associates, plus trainees and paralegals and PAs.

The work in this practice area includes large high-profile and complex claims relating to restructuring and insolvency including significant disputes against former directors and auditors of failed companies and complex cross border insolvency disputes. 

The work also covers general commercial disputes, including disputes arising out of corporate M&A transactions, government / PFI contracts, professional negligence, disciplinary and regulatory proceedings, energy disputes, claims in relation to agents, media, sport and art related disputes.

Qualifications, skills and experience

  • Between two to five years of legal experience with exposure to general commercial litigation dealing with large, complex disputes but may consider those with less or more experience providing they meet the required competencies.

  • We would be particularly interested in candidates with experience in large scale class actions.

  • Academic excellence is essential for all positions within Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer. We would always expect at least a 2:1 degree (or equivalent). All applications should include full academic details including grades, subjects and transcripts where appropriate.

  • Strong legal skills, including drafting, negotiation and project management skills; foundation level people management and business development skills.
