ROLE OVERVIEW  

The Associate Media Director plays a pivotal role in growing and retaining business across the organization. This position leads a team of Media Managers and Juniors in the development and execution of innovative paid social strategies for one of the world’s largest CPG companies and its extensive portfolio of brands.  

This is a hybrid strategic and executional role, combining analytical precision with creative problem-solving. The successful candidate will be hands-on in the platforms — particularly Meta (Facebook & Instagram) and TikTok — while also driving the strategic development of campaigns that deliver business impact. They will contribute to every stage of the process, from creative recommendations and media planning through to measurement, optimization, and performance storytelling. 

Working within a fast-paced, collaborative environment, the Associate Media Director will navigate complex inputs from multiple stakeholders, distilling information into clear, actionable direction. The ability to “thread the needle” — connecting brand priorities, creative outputs, and media execution — is critical to success in this role. 

This position requires strong client service and communication skills, as well as the ability to lead discussions, create compelling presentations, and guide internal and external teams toward alignment. Beyond campaign delivery, the Media Manager will focus on driving year-over-year efficiency gains, operational excellence, and process improvements across workflows and media investment practices. 

The ideal candidate is naturally curious, proactive, and detail-oriented — someone who thrives in both the strategic planning room and the tactical trenches of campaign management, always looking for new ways to elevate performance and value for clients. 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Support the Account Director in planning, execution, optimization, and reporting for paid social campaigns across Meta and TikTok. 
  • Oversee campaign setup, QA, and daily performance tracking to ensure flawless delivery and adherence to KPIs. 
  • Develop actionable insights and recommendations based on data and performance analytics. 
  • Create and deliver client-ready presentations and performance reports that clearly communicate outcomes, learnings, and next steps. 
  • Lead campaign testing frameworks to drive innovation and identify platform opportunities. 
  • Serve as a trusted partner to clients, proactively managing expectations and delivering high-quality work on time. 
  • Collaborate with creative, strategy, and analytics teams to ensure campaigns are connected, cohesive, and aligned with business objectives. 
  • Stay ahead of emerging social trends, ad formats, and best practices within the Meta and TikTok ecosystems. 
  • Support the mentorship and development of junior team members, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning. 
  • Ensure all work reflects Salt’s values, commitment to excellence, and attention to detail. 

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS  

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience managing paid social campaigns across Meta and TikTok platforms. 
  • Proven expertise in Ads Manager interfaces, audience strategy, creative testing, and campaign optimization. 
  • Strong proficiency with data visualization tools (Google Data Studio, Looker, etc.). 
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and storytelling skills. 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with precision and organization. 
  • Deep understanding of digital KPIs, measurement, and attribution principles. 
  • Experience supporting CPG or large enterprise clients preferred. 
  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Marketing, Communications, Advertising, or a related field. 
  • A proactive, detail-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving and time management skills. 
  • Passion for digital media and curiosity about platform advancements and innovation.
